My Nether’s Delight is an add-on for the Farmer’s Delight mod, and it moves a lot of your cooking into the Nether. It adds new meat from Hoglins, Striders and Ghasts, a spicy crop called the
Bullet Pepper and a Nether version of
Rich Soil, as well as a few new kitchen blocks, like the
Blazier and the
Nether Stove.
Most of the food is still cooked in the same
Cooking Pot you’d normally use in the Overworld, but most of what it adds can only be found in the Nether, so it’s a good reason to set up a second kitchen there. This page has been checked against the 1.21.1 NeoForge version, though the 1.20.1 Forge backport has the same items.
What It Adds

The first thing you’ll notice once it’s installed is the new meat. Hoglins will drop
Hoglin Loin in place of
Raw Porkchop, Striders will always drop
Strider Slices, and Ghasts will drop
Ghasta about half of the time, which is a kind of pasta made from their tentacles. A few of the drops will only happen when the killing blow comes from a
Knife, as the table shows.
| Mob | Drop | When |
|---|---|---|
| Hoglin | Hoglin Loin (Cooked Loin if burning) | Replaces its Porkchop |
| Hoglin | Hoglin Hide | 35% with a Knife, not while burning |
| Strider | Strider Slice | 2 always, more with a Knife |
| Strider | Strider Rock | 50% with a Knife, plus extra rolls |
| Ghast | Ghasta | 50% (Looting raises it), 6 more with a Knife |
| Ghast | Onion | 2.5% |
There’s a farming side to the mod as well. The peppers grow on a plant called Powdery Cane, and you’ll be able to make
Leteos Compost, which will turn into
Resurgent Soil. For building, there’s a new wood made from
Powdery Cannon and some Cabinets made from
Nether Bricks and
Blackstone, and the biggest dish is the
Stuffed Hoglin, which is a big feast that takes up two whole blocks.
How It Works With Farmer’s Delight
Leteos Compost will turn into Resurgent Soil the same way
Organic Compost turns into
Rich Soil, and if you plant a fungus on top of it you’ll get a
Crimson Fungus Colony, which works like the Mushroom Colonies do. It’s able to boost plants that hang down underneath it as well, which is something that Rich Soil won’t do.
The Nether Stove works just like the
Stove from Farmer’s Delight, though if you right-click it with
Soul Sand, it will switch over to soul fire. You’re also able to use a
Bullet Pepper Crate as a heat source, which means a
Cooking Pot that’s placed on top of one will be able to cook without any fire at all.
Cutting Board Recipes
Most of the meals will be cooked in the Cooking Pot and served in a
Bowl, though you’ll need to cut the raw meat up on the
Cutting Board first. A few of them use food from Farmer’s Delight as well, like the Stuffed Hoglin, which needs
Ham and two
Nether Salads.
| Input | Tool | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Hoglin Loin | Knife | 2 Hoglin Sausage |
| Strider Slice | Knife | 2 Minced Strider, String |
| Hoglin Hide | Knife | 4 Leather (2 more at 50%) |
| Bullet Pepper | Knife | Pepper Powder |
| Ghasta | Knife | Ghasmati |
| Strider Rock | Pickaxe | Strider Egg, Bone Meal at 25% |
| Fungus Colony | Knife | 5 Crimson or Warped Fungus |
The Strider Rock is the odd one out here, as it’s the only one of these recipes that needs a Pickaxe instead of a Knife. Everything else will work with any Knife, so even the
Flint Knife you’re able to make early on is enough to cut up all of the meat you’ll bring back from the Nether.
Caustic and Invigorating Pungency
Quite a lot of the spicy food will give you an effect called Caustic Pungency, which is harmful, as it sets you on fire whenever you’re next to a flame or standing in lava. It will keep hurting you until your health drops to three quarters at level I, half at level II and one heart at level III, and then it puts the fire out.
Remember, if you’ve got Fire Resistance or Fire Protection armor on, it turns into Invigorating Pungency instead, which will heal you a heart every couple of seconds while you’re near fire. The higher levels heal you even faster.
Getting the Ingredients
Powdery Cane grows in patches in Crimson Forests, and it will hurt you if you walk into it without sneaking, the same way a
Cactus does. If you punch the Bullet Peppers on it when they’re ripe, they’ll explode, so you’ll want to pick them with a Knife or
Shears instead, and a tall stalk that’s lit up will give you 3 to 8 peppers at once.
You’ll be able to make Leteos Compost from
Soul Sand,
Rotten Flesh,
Bone Meal and some roots or
Straw, but it will only turn into Resurgent Soil while it’s in the Nether. It goes a lot faster with lava right next to it, or if it’s placed in a Soul Sand Valley, whereas a flame or some vines next to it will only help it a little.
Bastions and Bartering
Bastions are worth looting as well, as the mod adds its own items to their chests. Piglins will also give you its food a quarter of the time when you barter with them, so a few
Gold Ingots can save you a trip to a Crimson Forest.
| Where | What You Might Find |
|---|---|
| Hoglin stable chests | Hoglin Loin, Cooked Loin, Strider Eggs, Strider Rocks, Golden Egg, Resurgent Soil, Leteos Compost |
| Treasure room chests | Hoglin Trophies, Curse of Poaching book, Golden Eggs, Enchanted Golden Egg |
| Piglin bartering (25%) | Hoglin Loin, Strider Rocks, Bullet Peppers, Ghasta, Strider Eggs |
The
Enchanted Golden Egg is the one you’ll want to look out for, as there’s no way to craft it, so a treasure room is the only place you’ll get one. You don’t need to worry about missing the trophies though, as they’re only decoration, and they can be crafted anyway, as long as you’ve got some Hoglin Hide.
Best Picks
Later on, you’ll want to aim for the meals that give you a lot of hunger and a long Nourishment, like the
Spicy Noodle Soup or the Snout plate from the Stuffed Hoglin. When you’re just starting out though, it’s worth carrying some
Strider Stew with you, as its Fire Resistance lasts long enough to cross a lava lake.
| Food | Hunger | Saturation | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spicy Noodle Soup | 16 | 20.8 | Nourishment (5:00), Caustic Pungency II (1:00) |
| Plate of Stuffed Hoglin Snout | 14 | 25.2 | Nourishment (5:00) |
| Breakfast Sampler | 15 | 22.5 | Nourishment (2:00) |
| Fried Hoglin Chop | 12 | 21.6 | Nourishment (3:00), Caustic Pungency (1:00) |
| Strider Stew | 8 | 9.6 | Fire Resistance (0:40), Nourishment (1:00) |
| Golden Egg | 4 | 8 | Resistance and Absorption (0:30), clears harmful effects |
The
Golden Egg is made from 8
Gold Ingots around a Boiled Egg, and it will turn all of the bad effects you’ve got into Nourishment. The Strider Egg will only clear one of them, but it’s a lot cheaper to get.
Versions
The mod is only made for Forge and NeoForge, and new updates will come out for 1.21.1 first. The 1.20.1 version is a backport of the same update though, so you’ll get all of the same items either way.
| Minecraft | Loader | Latest File | Updated |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1.21.1 | NeoForge | 1.10.4.1 | 2026-09-11 |
| 1.21 | NeoForge | 1.7.8 | 2024-12-09 |
| 1.20.1 | Forge | 1.10.4 backport | 2026-08-13 |
| 1.19.2 | Forge | 1.7.5 | 2024-07-23 |
The 1.21 and 1.19.2 files haven’t been updated in a long time, so it’s best to stick to 1.21.1 or 1.20.1 for a new world. Either way, you’ll still need to have Farmer’s Delight installed, as the mod won’t load without it.
FAQ
They grow on the Powdery Cane that you’ll find in Crimson Forests, though a ripe one will explode if you hit it by hand, so you’ll need to pick them with a Knife or
Shears instead. If you’d rather not go looking for them, you’re able to barter with Piglins for one or two as well.
You’ll need to kill a Strider with a Knife for
Strider Rocks, and then either throw them or break them on a
Cutting Board with a Pickaxe. Breaking them will always give you the egg, whereas a thrown one might hatch a baby Strider instead. They also turn up in Bastion stables.
It’s a curse that lets you get the drops a Knife would get with any weapon, like
Ham or Hoglin Hide, as the kill counts as if a Piglin Brute made it with a Knife. It will cost you extra durability each time though, and if a poach fails the mob might turn into a Zoglin or a Witch.
Nether’s Delight is the original add-on, and it hasn’t been updated since 2023, so it stops at 1.20.1, whereas My Nether’s Delight is still being updated for 1.21.1 and 1.20.1. It’s a separate mod with its own items, like Ghasta and the Blazier.
There’s plenty of other add-ons like this one, and the Farmer’s Delight Add-ons page lists the ones worth installing. Most of them will work alongside My Nether’s Delight without any problems, as they cover other parts of the game.
