Cabinets are storage blocks from the Farmer’s Delight mod, and there’s one for every type of wood in the game, from the
Oak Cabinet to the
Warped Cabinet. They hold 27 stacks, the same as a
Chest or a
Barrel, but they look like kitchen cupboards, with a pair of doors on the front.
You’ll mostly use them to store food and ingredients in a kitchen, as they fit in well next to the mod’s other blocks. They work with
Hoppers and Comparators as well, so you can use them in a storage system the same way you would use any other container.
Crafting

Every Cabinet is made from 6 Slabs and 2 Trapdoors of the same wood. The Slabs go across the top and bottom rows, and the Trapdoors go on the left and right of the middle row, so an
Oak Cabinet needs
Oak Slabs and
Oak Trapdoors.
The recipe only gives you one Cabinet, which is more expensive than a
Chest, as 6 Slabs and 2 Trapdoors use up 9 Planks. All 11 of them follow the same pattern, so once you know one you’ll be able to make the rest, and you can’t mix two kinds of wood in one recipe.
| Cabinet | Made With | Burns as Fuel |
|---|---|---|
| Oak Cabinet | Oak Slabs, Oak Trapdoors | Yes |
| Spruce Cabinet | Spruce Slabs, Spruce Trapdoors | Yes |
| Birch Cabinet | Birch Slabs, Birch Trapdoors | Yes |
| Jungle Cabinet | Jungle Slabs, Jungle Trapdoors | Yes |
| Acacia Cabinet | Acacia Slabs, Acacia Trapdoors | Yes |
| Dark Oak Cabinet | Dark Oak Slabs, Dark Oak Trapdoors | Yes |
| Mangrove Cabinet | Mangrove Slabs, Mangrove Trapdoors | Yes |
| Cherry Cabinet | Cherry Slabs, Cherry Trapdoors | Yes |
| Bamboo Cabinet | Bamboo Slabs, Bamboo Trapdoors | Yes |
| Crimson Cabinet | Crimson Slabs, Crimson Trapdoors | No |
| Warped Cabinet | Warped Slabs, Warped Trapdoors | No |
The Crimson and Warped Cabinets won’t burn in a
Furnace, as they’re made from Nether wood, while the other nine will each smelt one and a half items. All of them are in the Wooden Cabinets tag as well, which modpacks and other mods are able to use to treat every Cabinet as the same block.
How to Use It
When you place a Cabinet, its doors will face toward you, and you can open it by right-clicking it. The doors will swing open while anyone is looking inside, and they’ll close again with a sound once everyone is done.

Unlike a
Chest, a Cabinet can still be opened when there’s a block on top of it, so you can put a counter or another Cabinet straight on top. They won’t join up into a double container like Chests do though, so each one will always be 27 slots.
You’ll want to use an Axe to break a Cabinet, and all of the items inside will drop on the ground when it breaks. If you put one on a
Cutting Board and use an Axe on it, you’ll have a 75% chance of getting a Plank back, the same as breaking down a Door or a Fence.
Hoppers and Redstone
A
Hopper can put items into a Cabinet from any side, and a Hopper underneath it will pull items back out, so you can use it anywhere you would use a Chest. You can also read how full it is with a
Redstone Comparator, and the signal works the same way it does for a Chest.
Remember, opening a Cabinet will anger any Piglins that can see you, the same way opening a Chest does. Wearing Gold Armor won’t stop this either, so make sure none of them are watching if you’ve got Cabinets in a Nether base.
Cabinets can’t be waterlogged, so if you place one in water the water will be pushed out, the same as with a
Barrel. They’re a full block, so you can stack them or put other blocks on the sides without the doors getting in the way.
If you want more kitchen furniture to go with them, add-ons like Storage Delight add extra pieces in the same style, and Display Delight lets you place the mod’s foods as 3D blocks. You’ll find what each of them adds on the Farmer’s Delight Add-ons page.
FAQ
You’ll need 6 Slabs and 2 Trapdoors of the same wood, with the Slabs in the top and bottom rows and the Trapdoors on each side of the middle row. For example,
Oak Slabs and
Oak Trapdoors will give you an
Oak Cabinet.
A Cabinet has 27 slots, which is the same as a single
Chest or a
Barrel. It can’t be joined with another Cabinet to make a double one, so you’ll need more of them if you want more space, and you can stack them on top of each other as well.
Hoppers are able to put items into a Cabinet and take them out again, from any side, just like a Chest. A Comparator will read how full it is as well, so it works in a sorting system the same way any other container does.
You can, as Cabinets don’t need any space above them like Chests do. That means you can put another Cabinet, a
Cutting Board or any other block on top of one and still open it from the front.
