Create Slice & Dice is a Farmer’s Delight add-on that hooks the mod into Create, so the work you’d normally do at a
Cutting Board or
Cooking Pot can be done by machines instead. It adds the
Slicer, which cuts food with a Knife, and the
Sprinkler, which waters your crops from a pipe.
You’ll need Create installed for it to work, along with Kotlin for Forge on the 1.20.1 Forge version. Farmer’s Delight isn’t strictly required, but without it the Slicer has almost nothing to cut, so you’ll want both of them in your pack.
What It Adds

There are only three new items, and each of them is meant to be part of a Create build rather than used by hand. Liquid Fertilizer is a fluid, so the bucket is just there for carrying it.
| Item | What It Does | Made From |
|---|---|---|
| Slicer | Holds a Knife or Axe and runs Cutting Board recipes on a Belt, a Basin or items on the ground | Cogwheel, Andesite Casing, Turntable |
| Sprinkler | Sprays a piped fluid over a 5 by 5 area below it | 4 Copper Sheets, Fluid Pipe, Iron Bars (makes 3) |
| Bucket of Liquid Fertilizer | Fluid that grows crops when sprayed, and turns Organic Compost into Rich Soil | Mixed in a Basin |
None of them do anything on their own, as they all need Create’s power or pipes to run. So it’s worth having a basic Create setup going before you start, even if it’s just a water wheel.
How It Works With Farmer’s Delight
The Slicer and the Cutting Board
The Slicer works a lot like a Mechanical Press, but it won’t do anything until you right-click it with a tool, which will usually be a Knife like the
Iron Knife. After that it will cut anything that passes under it on a Belt, anything lying on the ground below it, or whatever is sitting in a Basin underneath.
It’s able to do every Cutting Board recipe, so whole stacks of food get cut without you at a board. Each cut will use up a bit of the tool’s durability, and it will only work while it’s spinning the right way, so check it with your Goggles if it isn’t doing anything.
Cooking Pot Meals in a Basin
The other half of the mod copies every Cooking Pot recipe so that a Mixer is able to make it, which means you can cook soups and stews in a Basin. The Basin will need to be heated by a Blaze Burner, and you’ll still need to add the container, so a
Beef Stew needs a
Bowl dropped in with the meat and vegetables.
Anything that comes in a bucket can be piped in as a fluid instead, like Milk in place of a
Milk Bucket, as long as that setting is left on in the config. It works for meals from other add-ons as well.
Harvesters and Straw
A Mechanical Harvester will count as holding an Iron Knife while this mod is installed. That means it will collect
Straw from
Wheat and
Rice the same way a player with a Knife would.
Sprinklers and Fertilizer
The Sprinkler needs a Fluid Pipe connected to its top, and it holds a little fluid at a time, using some of it every time it sprays. It will cover a 5 by 5 area and reach up to 7 blocks below it, but it won’t spray at all if there’s a solid block right underneath it, so you’ll want to hang it above your crops with a gap.

If you fill it with Water, the
Farmland below will act as if it’s raining, and any mob that’s on fire will be put out. If you fill it with Liquid Fertilizer instead, it works like
Bone Meal on all of your crops, and the same fluid will turn
Organic Compost straight into
Rich Soil if a Spout pours it on.
Getting the Ingredients
The Slicer is a Cogwheel,
Andesite Casing and Turntable stacked in one column of a
Crafting Table, which makes it one of the cheaper Create machines. Sprinklers come three at a time from Copper Sheets, a Fluid Pipe and
Iron Bars, so you’ll need a Press running before you’re able to make them.
To make Liquid Fertilizer you’ll need to mix
Organic Compost with Water, or use the Tree Fertilizer from Create with Water instead. As a small extra, the
Wheat Dough from Farmer’s Delight will also work in Create’s recipe for a Slime Ball.
Autochef’s Delight
Autochef’s Delight is a small add-on that changes how the
Cooking Pot reads its slots, and it pairs well with Slice & Dice even though it doesn’t need Create. It doesn’t add any items, but it lets the pot count ingredients by how many there are instead of needing one in each slot.
So a recipe that asks for two
Tomatoes will cook from a single slot holding a stack of them, and the pot will only use up as many as it needs. Bigger recipes are checked first, which stops a simple soup from taking the ingredients meant for a larger meal, and leftover containers like empty buckets get pushed out, so
Hoppers won’t clog it up.
Best Picks
The Slicer is the part most players install it for, and the easiest setup is a Belt running under a Slicer that’s holding an
Iron Knife. You can give it a
Diamond Knife or
Netherite Knife instead if you’d rather not replace it as often, and anything you put on the belt will come out as cuts.
Cooking in a Basin is worth it once you’ve got a Blaze Burner, as one Mixer makes soups in bulk. A Sprinkler with Water is the cheapest upgrade for a field of crops though.
Versions
Slice & Dice and Autochef’s Delight are made by different authors, so their versions don’t line up at all. The table shows the last file for each version of Minecraft and each loader.

FAQ
It connects Farmer’s Delight to Create, mostly through the Slicer, which will do the job of a
Cutting Board for you. It also lets you cook your meals in a Basin, and it adds a Sprinkler that will water your crops.
The Slicer comes from Create Slice & Dice, not from Delightful or Farmer’s Delight itself, even though it’s often mixed up with them. It uses the Cutting Board recipes from Farmer’s Delight, so you’ll want both mods installed.
It can once Slice & Dice is installed, as every
Cooking Pot recipe gets a copy that the Mixer is able to make. You’ll need to put a Blaze Burner under the Basin to heat it, and then drop the
Bowl in with the rest of the ingredients, like you would with the pot.
