Delightful is a Farmer’s Delight add-on that adds the little things the base mod is missing, like new wild crops, a few more uses for your Knife and a handful of new meals. You’ll find 
Salmonberries in forests and 
Cantaloupes on beaches, and killing animals with a Knife will give you 
Animal Fat as well.
It’s also a compatibility mod, so a big part of its item list will only work when another mod is installed next to it. Those items will still show up in the creative menu, but they’ll be marked as disabled until the other mod is added, which can make it look a lot bigger than it really is.
What It Adds
In a world with just Farmer’s Delight you’ll get around 50 working items, and nearly all of them tie back into the 
Cooking Pot, the 
Cutting Board or the Knife in some way. The table splits them into groups, so you’re able to see what’s there at a glance.

The pies work just like the Farmer’s Delight ones, so you’ll place them down and cut them into four slices with a Knife. The Stuffed Cantaloupe is a feast instead, which means it’s cooked in a whole Cantaloupe and you’ll need a 
Bowl to take each of its four servings.
How It Works With Farmer’s Delight
Knife Drops
Most of Delightful is reached through a Knife, so even the 
Flint Knife becomes a lot more useful early on. If you kill an animal or a fish with one, there’s a 70% chance it will drop some Animal Fat, and breaking leaves with it will give you Acorns and Green Tea Leaves as well.
Sliced Melons and New Recipes
You can also use a Knife on a 
Melon or 
Pumpkin that’s been placed down, and it will turn into a sliced block that you’re able to eat from or cut a slice at a time. A sliced Melon will fill a 
Glass Bottle with 
Melon Juice too, so you won’t need to craft it.
The Cutting Board gets a few new recipes too, so you’re able to cut a 
Cactus into two Cactus Chunks, which can then be cooked or used in soup. Most of the new cooking happens in the Cooking Pot though, and Animal Fat can even be used in place of the Milk in a 
Pie Crust, so it fits into recipes you already know.
These are cooked the same way as any other Cooking Pot meal, with a heat source under the pot. You’ll need the right container in its side slot as well, which is a Bowl for the soups and a Glass Bottle for the drinks.
Getting the Ingredients
Nearly everything here is found in the Overworld, so you won’t need to go anywhere special to start using the mod. The table shows where each of the main ingredients comes from and what you’ll need to collect it.

The Wandering Trader will also sell you seeds and slices, which is the quickest way to start a farm if you haven’t found the wild plants yet. Make sure to cook your Acorns before you eat them though, as a raw 
Acorn will give you Hunger for 10 seconds, which is a bit like eating 
Rotten Flesh.
Compat Items
More than half of the items in Delightful are there for other mods, so you’ll only be able to use them when that mod is installed as well. For example, there are soups that come in a Copper Cup for Miner’s Delight. A few of them will also switch themselves off when another mod that already adds the same thing is there instead.
Compat Knives
Knives work the same way, as most of them are made from other mods’ metals. The Copper, Amethyst, 
Emerald, 
Lapis Lazuli and 
Nether Quartz Knives are turned off in the config by default, so out of the box the 
Bone Knife is the only new one. The Knives page explains what knives do in general.
Best Picks
Most of the food in Delightful is worth eating at some point, but a few of the dishes stand out because of their effects. These are the ones that are most worth the trouble of making, along with their hunger and saturation.

The 
Matcha Latte is the first one worth making, as it will heal you a little and then keep you digging faster for three whole minutes. An 
Animal Oil Bottle is a good one to keep around as well, since it burns for a long time in a 
Furnace and you’ll get the bottle back once it’s used up.
If you don’t have a cheese mod installed, the Cheeseburgers will use Milk instead, so you’re able to make them in any Farmer’s Delight world. They’re a good step up from the regular 
Hamburger once you’ve got a Cow or two.
Versions
Delightful was only made for Forge until its 1.20.1 version, which also runs on NeoForge, and this page was checked against that file. The table shows the last file for each version of Minecraft.

There’s no 1.21.1 version, so you won’t be able to use it on the newer branch of Farmer’s Delight. The Farmer’s Delight Add-ons page lists the add-ons that do run on 1.21.1.
FAQ
Animal Fat drops when you kill an animal or a fish while holding a Knife, and there’s a 70% chance of getting 1 to 3, which Looting will improve. Most farm animals count, like Cows, Pigs, Sheep and Goats, as well as Cod, Salmon and 
Squid.
Acorns drop from Oak and 
Dark Oak Leaves, 5% of the time when you break them with a Knife and 1% with anything else apart from 
Shears or Silk Touch. You’re also able to put an 
Oak Sapling on a Cutting Board and use an Axe on it for a 20% chance.
Cantaloupes grow wild on the sand along Beaches, and breaking one with a Knife will give you four Cantaloupe Slices. A slice crafts into Cantaloupe Seeds, which you’ll need to plant on sand next to water.
If you break any kind of leaves with a Knife, you’ll get Green Tea Leaves 80% of the time, whereas other tools only get them very rarely. They won’t appear if Farmer’s Respite or Croptopia is installed, as those mods have their own tea leaves.
