Welcome to Wordle
Minecraft Wordle is a daily word puzzle built entirely around the game. Each day there is a single hidden word, and your task is to identify it within six guesses. The answer is always drawn from Minecraft itself: blocks, mobs, items, biomes, structures and more.
There is one puzzle per day, and it is the same for every player. It refreshes at midnight UTC, at which point a new word becomes available and the countdown to the next puzzle begins again. That shared, once-a-day format is part of the appeal: everyone is working on the same word, so it is easy to compare how you did with friends or with the wider community.
The puzzle is free to play and requires no account to start. You can open the page, make your guesses, and see how you did straight away. Signing in is entirely optional, and is only needed if you would like your results to be saved, more on that in the Friends and Leaderboards section below.
How to Play
The goal is to discover the day’s hidden Minecraft word in six guesses or fewer.
Begin by entering any valid word and pressing Enter. Each day’s answer has a fixed length, and the board indicates how many letters you are working with, so your guesses should match that length. After each guess, every tile is color-coded to show how close you were:
- Green: the letter is correct and in the correct position.
- Yellow: the letter appears in the word, but in a different position.
- Grey: the letter does not appear in the word at all. Use those clues to refine your next attempt. A letter confirmed in green should stay where it is, a yellow letter should be tried elsewhere, and grey letters can be set aside entirely.
The puzzle is solved when an entire row turns green; if you use all six guesses without finding the word, the answer is revealed so you can see what it was. A few approaches tend to help. Opening with a word that covers several common letters is an efficient way to learn which vowels and consonants are in play.
From there, it is worth thinking in Minecraft terms: because the answer is always taken from the game, the pattern of revealed letters will often point to a block, mob, or item rather than an everyday word. When progress stalls, running mentally through the game’s familiar categories of ores, tools, mobs, biomes, status effects will frequently surface a candidate you had overlooked.
Note that while the answer is always Minecraft-themed, your individual guesses may be any valid word.
Friends & Leaderboards
Although no account is required to play, creating one (which is free) unlocks the parts of Wordle that reward you for coming back each day. The first of these is your streak. Each day you solve the puzzle, your streak grows; miss a day and it resets.
Because every daily game on the site contributes to the same streak, a difficult Wordle does not have to end your run, since solving any of the other daily games keeps it alive. The second is the leaderboard, which appears alongside the board.
Solvers are ranked by how few guesses they needed, with earlier solves taking precedence in the event of a tie, so a confident two- or three-guess finish will place you near the top. The leaderboard offers two views: a global ranking of all players for the day, and a Friends view that shows only the people you have added, a more personal way to see how your result compares with the people you actually play alongside.
To appear on either, you simply need to be signed in when you solve the puzzle. If you play as a guest and then sign in, your result for the day is carried over, so you do not lose progress by deciding to create an account partway through.
