Resonarium Tools are the
Resonarium Sword,
Resonarium Axe,
Resonarium Pickaxe,
Resonarium Shovel and
Resonarium Hoe from the Deeper and Darker mod, which you’ll make by upgrading your Diamond tools at a
Smithing Table. They need a
Resonarium Plate each, the same as the armor does, so you’ll be collecting Resonarium for both.
They’ll deal the same damage as your Diamond tools did, but they last a bit longer and mine a bit faster, and they’re able to break any block in the game. Unlike the Resonarium Armor, they don’t do anything special, which makes them more of a small step up while you work toward Warden Tools.
Where to Get It
You won’t find these in chests, as each one has to be upgraded from the matching Diamond tool. For that you’ll need a Resonarium Plate, which is crafted from 4
Resonarium and 4 Scutes, and a
Resonarium Upgrade Smithing Template to go with it.

Resonarium only comes from the smallest Sludges in the Blooming Caverns, and the template turns up in Ancient City chests, Stronghold corridors and Trial Chambers Vaults. The Resonarium page has the full list of where to look, and how to copy a template once you’ve got one.
Crafting
Put the template in the first slot of a Smithing Table, the Diamond tool in the second and a Resonarium Plate in the third. Any enchantments on the Diamond tool carry over, so you’re able to upgrade a tool you’ve already enchanted without losing anything.
All five tools take 5 plates between them, which comes to 20 Resonarium and 20 Scutes, so it’s worth picking the tools you’ll actually use. The Shovel and Hoe are upgraded the same way, from a
Diamond Shovel and a
Diamond Hoe.
This recipe changed in 1.4, as the 1.20.1 version of the mod (which stops at 1.3.3) upgrades Iron tools instead, with no template needed. They hit just as hard there, but they only have 1,193 durability, which is less than a Diamond tool, and they mine a little slower too.
Stats
The damage below is what each tooltip shows, which already includes the base damage every player has. It’s the same as the Diamond version of each tool, at the same attack speeds.
| Tool | Attack Damage | Attack Speed |
|---|---|---|
| Resonarium Sword | 7 | 1.6 |
| Resonarium Axe | 9 | 1.0 |
| Resonarium Pickaxe | 5 | 1.2 |
| Resonarium Shovel | 5.5 | 1.0 |
| Resonarium Hoe | 1 | 4.0 |
They have 1,601 durability against Diamond’s 1,561, and they mine a little faster as well, so you’ll notice it most on the Pickaxe. It’s able to break anything a Netherite one can, like
Ancient Debris, and when it wears down you’ll repair it with Resonarium at an
Anvil, as each piece restores a quarter of the durability.

An
Enchanting Table will treat them about the same as Diamond tools, since their enchantability is 11 and Diamond’s is 10. They’re able to take Mending and Unbreaking too, which saves you having to go back and hunt Sludges every time one of them needs fixing.
Special Effects
Sculk Smite
Resonarium Tools don’t have any abilities of their own, so everything extra comes from how you enchant them. The Sword and Axe are able to take Sculk Smite, which adds 2.5 damage per level against sculk mobs like the Shattered and the Warden.
When to Make Them
The tools are mostly worth making if you’ve got spare Resonarium after building the armor, or if you’re playing on the 1.21.1 version and want something a bit past Diamond before you’re able to fight the Warden. There’s more on the mod’s enchantments on the Enchantments page.
FAQ
Upgrade a Diamond tool at a Smithing Table with a Resonarium Upgrade Smithing Template and a Resonarium Plate. The plate is crafted from 4 Resonarium and 4 Scutes, and the template is found in Ancient City, Stronghold and Trial Chambers loot.
They deal the same damage as Diamond tools, but they have 1,601 durability against 1,561, mine a little faster and can break any block. It’s a small step up, so they’re mostly worth making with the Resonarium you’ve got left after the armor.
Resonarium tools are repaired with Resonarium at an Anvil, and each piece restores a quarter of the tool’s durability. Unlike the armor, the tools are able to take Mending, so that’s an easier way to keep them going.
It can, as it’s able to break any block a Diamond or Netherite Pickaxe can, with Ancient Debris and Obsidian included. It mines a little faster than a Diamond Pickaxe as well, which helps when you’re digging through a lot of Netherrack to find it.
