End Remastered Mod

End Remastered changes the process for reaching the End. It adds 16 new and custom Ender Eyes into the game, 12 of which will need to be collected to reach the End, forcing you to access content you might normally skip.

The Eyes

In Vanilla Minecraft, you only need to collect 12 Ender Eyes to reach the End and complete the game, which is pretty easy. That’s where End Remastered comes in to complicate the process.

Now, there are 16 new Ender Eyes, all with their own methods of obtaining them. At least 12 unique eyes must be collected and placed into a Portal Frame to activate it within a Stronghold.

Like regular Ender Eyes, they can be released to locate the nearest Stronghold. If you discover a Portal Frame that has a Vanilla Ender Eye already placed, then it can be removed by right-clicking it.

Eye Types

Each Eye comes with its own bit of lore. Some require looting structures, and some require killing different mobs or bosses. You can read about each Eye, including where to find them below:

  1. Old Eye – Found in Desert Pyramids: Legends say this Eye once belonged to one of the great Sandworms.
  2. Nether Eye – Found in Nether Fortresses: It was lost by a Demon in the battle between the Aether and the Nether.
  3. Cold Eye – Found in Igloos: One of the last artifacts left behind by the Iceologers before they all suddenly vanished from the world.
  4. Rogue Eye – Found in Jungle Pyramids: This eye is believed to have given our ancestors the knowledge of Redstone.
  5. Black Eye – Found in Buried Chests: Pirates say it gave sight to the legendary Black Pearl.
  6. Magical Eye – Dropped by Evokers: Without this Eye, the Evoker has no power.
  7. Lost Eye – Found in Mineshafts: It is told that it was forged by the first blacksmiths of time.
  8. Corrupted Eye – Found in Pillager Outposts: The eye of a greedy King faded in solitude. Legend says it will bring infinite fortune to its owner.
  9. Wither Eye – Dropped by The Wither: Has witnessed destruction. Maybe it also witnessed your stuff disappear.
  10. Guardian Eye – Get it by Killing Elder Guardian: It has seen many warriors drown in the depths of the sea.
  11. Witch Eye – Craft it using the Witch Pupil: This pupil is believed to have seen the ancient brewing recipes that were lost in time.
  12. Cursed Eye – Found in Bastions treasure chest: A powerful yet destructive artifact, the Piglins swore to protect it at the cost of their lives
  13. Exotic Eye – Craft it using aquatic items: Those who followed this eye were never seen again; rumors say they found the great city of Atlantis, or lost their way trying
  14. Evil Eye – Buy it from a master cleric: A holy talisman said to protect its owner from bad luck
  15. Undead Eye – Craft it using an Undead Soul: Remembrance of the past lives of those who live in death
  16. 16. Cryptic Eye – Have a small chance to get it when enchanting

End Castle

Another mod by the same developer, The Lost Castle, can also be downloaded. This used to be included with the standard End Remastered mod and may be found in some older versions alongside The End Gate.

If you still want to have this area included in your game, you’ll need to install it as a separate mod. It also no longer contains a Portal Frame like it used to, it’s merely a large structure containing enemies and loot.

The area is huge, and there’s plenty of loot to find and rooms to explore inside the End Castle. You might encounter Libraries, Dining Rooms, Corridors, Temples, and more.

It’s not completely safe either, as Pillagers can be found roaming the Castle with Crossbows. So if you do come to this structure, bring plenty of food and a Backpack if you have one.

New Items

There are two additional items included with End Remastered. One is the Witch Pupil, which is dropped by Witches, and is used to craft the Witch Eye. The other is the Undead Soul, which is used to craft the Undead Eye. To obtain the Undead Soul, you must kill a Skeletal Horse.

How to Install

If you haven't already, make sure to install Forge, or install Fabric for Minecraft. It's a simple process and takes just a few minutes. Once your mod loader is installed:
  1. Download the mod for your Minecraft Version. It will be a .JAR file.
  2. Take this file, and place it in the 'mods' folder of your Minecraft directory. If this folder doesn't exist, create it. The easiest way to access your Minecraft directory is opening the game, going to Resource Packs and pressing the 'Open Resource Pack Folder' button.
  3. Once it's inside the mods folder, run Minecraft with the Forge or Fabric preset selected. The mod will be installed and can be played with in-game.
