The
Ring of the Spectral Walker is a Relic from Reliquified Ars Nouveau that's worn in a Ring slot, and it lets you fly straight through solid blocks while it's switched on. The blocks around you turn into Ars Nouveau's Intangible Air as you go, and it'll drain your Mana for every second that it's active.

This is the Reliquified Ars Nouveau beta for Minecraft 1.21.1, which needs the Relics 0.12 beta and was checked against version 0.8.1. It's still being worked on by the developer, and the numbers might change in a later build.
In the beta the Ring of the Spectral Walker has been replaced by the
Staff of the Spectral Walker, which is held in your hand instead of worn, and it runs on charges rather than Mana. Holding right-click with it pushes you forward through solid blocks, which turn into Intangible Air around you and come back once you've passed.

Obtaining
You'll find the
Ring of the Spectral Walker in Chests on 1.21.1, but only ones that are inside an Archwood Forest or a Sparse Jungle biome. Around a third of those Chests will have a Relic inside, which gets picked from every Relic that's able to spawn there.
| Where | Chance | Roughly |
|---|---|---|
| Wilden Den or Dungeon in an Archwood Forest | 1.7% | 1 in 59 |
| Plains Village in an Archwood Forest | 1.6% | 1 in 62 |
| Dungeon in a Sparse Jungle | 1.7% | 1 in 61 |
These are the chances with only Relics and Reliquified Ars Nouveau installed. Any other add-on that has Relics of its own might join the same pick if its loot rules match, which would lower them a little.
You'll find the
Staff of the Spectral Walker in the same places in the beta, although only one Chest in five will hold a Relic, which makes it harder to come by than on 1.21.1. Every Relic from Reliquified Ars Nouveau has the same odds, as they all share the same two loot rules.
| Where | Chance | Roughly |
|---|---|---|
| Wilden Den or Dungeon in an Archwood Forest | 1% | 1 in 99 |
| Plains Village in an Archwood Forest | 0.9% | 1 in 112 |
| Dungeon in a Sparse Jungle | 1% | 1 in 99 |
These are the chances with only Relics and Reliquified Ars Nouveau installed. Any other add-on that has Relics of its own might join the same pick if its loot rules match, which would lower them a little.
Archwood Forests are added by Ars Nouveau, but they'll only generate when TerraBlender is installed as well. Sparse Jungles count on both versions too, as their name matches the add-on's loot rule, which makes them the place to look in a world without TerraBlender.
Magic-themed structures from other mods count as well, like wizard towers and crypts, and there's no crafting recipe for any of these Relics. With Reliquified Artifacts installed, a Mimic is able to drop one too, and Mimi-Dust will turn a Chest that's holding one into a Mimic.
Relic Quality & Rerolling
Each stat on a new Relic is rolled between a lowest and a highest value, which is shown by the stars under its portrait. An ability can be rerolled for 50 experience points, but the new roll might turn out worse than the one you had.
Whenever a reroll comes out worse, you'll gain some Luck, which makes better rolls more likely from then on. Every point of Luck adds 5 experience points to the cost of a reroll though, and you're able to hold Shift to keep rerolling until it's perfect.
Each stat on a new Relic is rolled between a lowest and a highest value, and they're all rolled separately. An ability can be rerolled for 150 experience points, which will always give a different result, but it might be a worse one.
Usage
To use it on 1.21.1, hold Left Alt to bring up the active abilities menu, pick Dissociation and hold down left-click, as it only stays on while the button is held. Any block that you push into becomes Intangible Air for a moment, and you'll be carried in whichever direction you're looking.
It costs between 50 and 75 Mana every second on a new ring, which empties a starting pool of 100 Mana in a couple of seconds, so you'll need a lot more Max Mana before you try to cross anything thick. You won't take fall damage or suffocate while it's on, as long as you've got Mana to keep it going.
If it stops while you're inside a block, either because you let go or your Mana ran out, you'll be teleported back to the last open spot that you were standing in. Chests, Furnaces and anything else that stores something won't turn intangible, and neither will Bedrock or other unbreakable blocks.
To use the
Staff of the Spectral Walker in the beta, hold right-click while you're facing a wall, which turns a wide tunnel of blocks ahead of you into Intangible Air and pushes you through it. Each second of moving through those blocks uses one charge, and it'll stop on its own once they've run out.
A new Staff holds 3 to 5 charges, and they only come back while you aren't using it, at one every 7.5 to 10 seconds. It doesn't use any Mana at all, which means that you're able to use it without a big Mana pool.
You won't take fall damage after coming out of the blocks until you've landed, but nothing brings you back out of them before rank 3. If you let go while you're still inside, nothing will move you out before the blocks turn back, so you'll want to keep holding until you're clear of them.
Rank 1 gives every mob near you Glowing while you're using the Staff with right-click held down, so they can be seen through walls, and rank 3 adds the safe return. Rank 5 gives you the Immortality effect while you're moving through blocks, which stops you from taking any damage until you're out.
Abilities
There's only one ability on the
Ring of the Spectral Walker, called Dissociation, which goes up to level 10. The Relic reaches level 10 as well, which gives you exactly enough Upgrade Points to max it out.

| Stat | Starting Roll | At Ability Level 10 | Your Relic |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mana per Second | 75 to 50 | 38 to 25 |
Mana per Second is the only stat, so every Upgrade Point goes into making it cheaper, down to 25 Mana a second with a perfect roll at level 10. It's an active ability, which means it does nothing until you switch it on from the abilities menu.
Upgrading an ability will take Upgrade Points, along with some of your own experience points, which starts at 50 and goes up by 50 each time. Resetting one costs 250 experience points for each level that it had, and you'll be given all of its points back.
There's only one ability on the
Staff of the Spectral Walker, Spectral Dash, which can reach level 10 and takes the Relic to level 10 with it. Ranking up raises that cap to 35 by rank 5, as well as unlocking the three extra effects that are listed on the card.

| Stat | Starting Roll | At Ability Level 10 | Your Relic |
|---|---|---|---|
| Charges | 3 to 5 | 6 to 11 | |
| Reveal Radius | 5 to 10 blocks | 6.4 to 12.9 blocks | |
| Recharge Time | 10 to 7.5 seconds | 7.52 to 5.64 seconds |
The Reveal Radius doesn't do anything until rank 1, even though it's shown from the start. Charges only drain while you're actually moving through blocks, so holding the Staff out in the open won't use any of them.
Upgrading an ability will take Upgrade Points, along with some of your own experience points, which starts at 50 and goes up by 50 each time. Resetting one costs 250 experience points for each level that it had, and you'll be given all of its points back.
Ranks have been added on top of levels in the beta. Once a Relic has reached its maximum level, it's able to be ranked up, which raises the level cap on its abilities and unlocks the extra effects that are listed on them.
Experience Sources
The
Ring of the Spectral Walker gains 1 Relic experience on 1.21.1 for every second that Dissociation is switched on, as long as you've got the Mana to keep it going. It doesn't matter whether you're inside blocks or out in the open, so you're able to level it anywhere.
A quarter of the experience that a Relic earns will also be given to one other Relic that you're carrying, as long as it isn't at its maximum level. A Relic that's been maxed out won't earn any more experience, which means it has nothing to pass on.
In the beta the
Staff of the Spectral Walker gains 1 Relic experience for every charge that it uses, which means every second of moving through blocks. Holding it in the open won't earn anything, so you'll need to tunnel through stone to level it up.
Leveling
The first Relic level costs 100 Relic experience on 1.21.1, and each one after that will cost 100 more than the last. You'll need 5,500 in total to reach level 10, which is where Dissociation can be maxed out.
| Relic Level | Unlocks | Relic Experience | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | — | 100 | 100 |
| 2 | — | 200 | 300 |
| 3 | — | 300 | 600 |
| 4 | — | 400 | 1,000 |
| 5 | — | 500 | 1,500 |
| 6 | — | 600 | 2,100 |
| 7 | — | 700 | 2,800 |
| 8 | — | 800 | 3,600 |
| 9 | — | 900 | 4,500 |
| 10 | Maximum Level | 1,000 | 5,500 |
A new Staff can reach Relic level 10 in the beta, which takes 5,500 Relic experience in total, with each level costing 100 more than the last. Once it's there you're able to rank it up, which raises the cap and unlocks the next effect on its card.
| Relic Level | Unlocks | Relic Experience | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | — | 100 | 100 |
| 2 | — | 200 | 300 |
| 3 | — | 300 | 600 |
| 4 | — | 400 | 1,000 |
| 5 | — | 500 | 1,500 |
| 6 | — | 600 | 2,100 |
| 7 | — | 700 | 2,800 |
| 8 | — | 800 | 3,600 |
| 9 | — | 900 | 4,500 |
| 10 | Maximum Level | 1,000 | 5,500 |
Config
Before a single Relic can be changed, you'll need to open the Relics config file and set enabledExtendedConfigs to true. After a restart, a separate file will be created for every Relic, along with a loot file that has the chance for a Chest to hold one.
Related Relics
The
Mana Ring raises the Max Mana that Dissociation drains, and it's worn in a Ring slot as well. The
Ring of Thrift won't make it any cheaper though, as it only works on spells that you cast and not on the Mana that a Relic uses.
The
Architect's Staff and the
Whirlisprig Petals are held items in the beta as well, and both of them run on charges instead of Mana. Since the Staff isn't worn any more, it leaves your Ring slot free for the
Mana Ring or the
Ring of Thrift.
FAQ
It's in Chests inside an Archwood Forest or a Sparse Jungle on 1.21.1, like a Wilden Den or a Village, and the Staff of the Spectral Walker is found in the same places in the beta. Archwood Forests need TerraBlender, and Mimics can drop them with Reliquified Artifacts.
The beta replaces it with the Staff of the Spectral Walker, which is held in your hand and used with right-click. It runs on charges instead of Mana, and the safe return to the last open spot only comes back at rank 3.
On 1.21.1 you'll need to hold Left Alt, pick Dissociation from the abilities menu and hold left-click, then look where you want to go. It keeps going for as long as you're holding the button and still have Mana left.
It can't go through Bedrock or other unbreakable blocks, or any block that stores something like a Chest or a Furnace, on either version. Claimed land that you aren't allowed to break is skipped as well, which means you'll stop at its edge.
