Aethersent Equipment is the gear made from Aethersent, which is a metal from the Eternal Starlight mod that falls from the sky during Meteor Showers in the Starlight Dimension. It’s made up of the
Aethersent Hood,
Aethersent Cape,
Aethersent Bottoms and
Aethersent Boots, as well as the
Rage of Stars and the
Starfall Longbow.
There are no Aethersent tools, so this set is all about fighting, and every piece of it is able to call meteors down onto whatever you’re attacking. The armor gives each attacker a chance to be hit by a shower of meteors, while the weapons do it on purpose, which makes it a very different set to wear compared to the rest of the mod.
Where to Get It
Aethersent mostly comes from Creteors, which are creatures that crash down with the large meteorites during a Meteor Shower at night. Each Creteor will drop 1 to 3
Raw Aethersent and 4 to 6
Creteor Hide when it’s killed, while the smaller Tiny Creteors drop 1 to 2 Raw Aethersent and up to 3 hide, and you’ll need both of these for the armor.
Meteorites and Fishing
The biggest natural meteorites are worth heading toward as well, as one that’s large enough will drop 20 to 30 Raw Aethersent where it lands. It also leaves some
Block of Raw Aethersent and
Nebulaite around the crater, which can be mined out afterward to get even more.

Raw Aethersent can also turn up as fishing treasure, 5 to 10 at a time, though that’s a lot slower than hunting Creteors. Either way, it needs to be smelted in a
Furnace or a
Blast Furnace before it’s able to be used, which turns each one into an
Aethersent Ingot.
Crafting
Every piece of Aethersent armor is made from a mix of
Aethersent Ingots and
Creteor Hide, with the Cape and the Bottoms both needing 5 hide each. The
Rage of Stars is crafted like a normal sword from 2 ingots and a
Stick, whereas the
Starfall Longbow uses 2 ingots, a Creteor Hide and 3
String.
The two weapons are crafted a little differently, as the Rage of Stars is made like a normal sword while the Starfall Longbow takes a Creteor Hide and String as well. You’ll want both if you’re planning to use the meteors on purpose rather than waiting for the armor to set them off.
Aethersent Arrows are made the same way as normal ones with an Aethersent Nugget on top, which gives 4 at a time. The
Galactic Quiver only needs 3 Creteor Hide, and it’s able to hold up to 512 arrows in a single slot, which is handy for the Starfall Longbow as it goes through them quickly.
Stats
The armor points are the same as Diamond for the Hood, Bottoms and Boots, but the Cape only gives 7 where a Diamond Chestplate would give 8. It’ll last you a lot longer than Diamond does though, and while it has no toughness at all, its enchantability of 35 is the highest of any armor in the mod.
| Piece | Armor | Durability |
|---|---|---|
| Aethersent Hood | 3 | 495 |
| Aethersent Cape | 7 | 720 |
| Aethersent Bottoms | 6 | 675 |
| Aethersent Boots | 3 | 585 |
| Full Set | 19 | – |
The Rage of Stars deals 5 damage at the normal sword speed of 1.6, which is low for the tier, as most of what it does comes from the meteors instead. It has 1,750 durability, while the Starfall Longbow has 2,000 and works like a normal
Bow, so it’s able to fire any arrows you have.
Special Effects
Meteor Counterattack
Each piece of Aethersent armor gives you a 25% chance for a shower of meteors to fall on a mob when it hurts you, and that goes up by another 25% with every piece you add. So with the full set on it’ll happen every time you’re hit, but only once every 6 seconds, as the showers need a short wait before they can be called again.

A shower is 9 small meteors, which land on the mob that hit you and the area around it, and they won’t hurt you or anything on your side. It’ll work on ranged attackers too, like a Skeleton shooting at you from across a cave, which is where the set tends to be the most useful.
Rage of Stars and Starfall Longbow
The
Rage of Stars is able to call down a shower every time it hits a mob, or even when it’s just swung, and it aims at the first mob in front of you up to 20 blocks away. If there’s nothing there, the meteors will land about 10 blocks ahead of you instead, and the
Starfall Longbow works the same way wherever one of its arrows lands.

These have a 3 second wait between showers, and it’s shared with the armor, so wearing the set while using either weapon won’t give you any extra showers. You’ll be firing a lot more arrows than usual with the Longbow as well, which is why it’s worth pairing it with a Galactic Quiver.
Meteor Showers
Meteor Showers happen at night in the Starlight Dimension, and during one, meteorites will streak across the sky and crash into the ground. The large ones can hurt you if they land nearby, but they’re also where the Creteors come from, so it’s worth heading toward the craters once the impacts stop.

An
Aetherstrike Rocket is made from a Creteor Hide, a
Starcore and Paper, and it’s able to start a Meteor Shower whenever you want one. This makes it a lot easier to gather Aethersent, as you won’t have to wait around for a shower to happen by itself, and it’s covered more on the Meteor Showers and Aurora page.
FAQ
Aethersent drops from Creteors, which land with the large meteorites during a Meteor Shower at night, as each one gives 1 to 3 Raw Aethersent. Large natural meteorites drop 20 to 30 Raw Aethersent as well, and it can also be fished up as treasure, then it just needs to be smelted into ingots.
The meteors called by Aethersent armor won’t hurt you or anything on your side, they only damage the mob that attacked you and the mobs around it. The natural meteorites from a Meteor Shower are different though, as those can still hurt you if you’re standing close to where they land.
There aren’t any Aethersent tools, as the only gear made from the metal is the four armor pieces, the Rage of Stars, the Starfall Longbow and Aethersent Arrows. For tools you’ll want to look at a material like Deepsilver or Unrealium instead, which both have a full set of tools as well as armor.
Each piece gives a 25% chance when you’re damaged by a mob, so the full set will call a shower every time you’re hit. There’s a 6 second wait between showers though, and that wait is shared with the Rage of Stars and the Starfall Longbow as well.
