The Crescent Spear is a melee weapon from the Eternal Starlight mod that’s able to dash you forward in a spin, hitting every mob around you once you crash into something. It’s one of the rewards from the Lunar Monstrosity, which will either drop the Crescent Spear directly or leave you with enough materials to craft it.
As a normal weapon, the Crescent Spear deals 8.5 attack damage at an attack speed of 1.3, which puts it just above a
Diamond Sword for each swing, but a fair bit slower. The dash is what makes it worth carrying, as it gets you across a room in a moment and hits everything close to where you land.
Obtaining
There’s two ways to get the Crescent Spear, and the easiest one is to just defeat the Lunar Monstrosity, as it drops the Crescent Spear 75% of the time. If you’re unlucky with the drop, it can be crafted instead from 3
Deepsilver Ingots, 2
Tenacious Petals and a
Tenacious Vine.
The Tenacious Petals and Vines only come from the Lunar Monstrosity, which drops 10 to 15 of each, so either way you’ll need to beat it in the Cursed Garden first. Deepsilver is mined from Deepsilver Ore underground in the Starlight Dimension, and the Golem Forge and the Cursed Garden have Deepsilver in their chests as well.
The same fight also gives the
Moonring Bow every time, along with a Crescent Pendant that’s worth keeping hold of for the Crescent Spear. When a Crescent Pendant is combined onto a Chestplate as an accessory, it will repair the Crescent Spear by 1 durability every 30 seconds.

The
Crescent Pendant only goes on a Chestplate, and it adds 15% to your attack damage while it’s there, which helps the Crescent Spear as much as any other weapon. It’ll also stop any single hit from taking more than 75% of your maximum health, so it’s worth keeping on well after the fight.
Usage
In the hand, the Crescent Spear has 750 durability and uses up 1 every time you dash with it, on top of the usual cost for hitting things. It can be repaired with Tenacious Petals or Tenacious Vines on an
Anvil, or left to repair itself slowly with the
Crescent Pendant on your armor.
The Dash
Holding right-click with the Crescent Spear for half a second and letting go will launch you forward in whichever direction you’re looking, spinning the same way a
Trident with Riptide does. It only works when there’s ground or water within 5 blocks below you, so it can’t be used to keep going once you’re already high up in the air.

While you’re dashing, bumping into a mob or a wall will make the Crescent Spear strike every mob within 3 blocks of you with a full-strength attack, which also shakes the screen. This counts as a normal hit from the spear, so anything the Crescent Spear is enchanted with will be applied to each of the mobs it strikes as well.
The strike hits everything within 3 blocks of where you land, so dashing straight into the middle of a group of mobs will hit all of them at once for your full attack damage. It’s worth enchanting the Crescent Spear with Sharpness for this, as every one of those hits gets the bonus.
The dash has a cooldown of 1 second after each use, and it will lift you a little off the ground first if you’re standing on it, which helps it clear small bumps along the way. It keeps going for about a second, so there’s enough time to change direction slightly before you reach the mob you’re aiming for.
Enchantments
The Crescent Spear counts as a sword for enchanting, so Sharpness, Smite, Bane of Arthropods, Looting, Knockback and Fire Aspect can all be applied to it, along with Unbreaking and Mending. It’s barely enchantable at an
Enchanting Table though, which makes an
Enchanted Book and an Anvil the better way to go about it.
Fearless is one of the Eternal Starlight enchantments, which increases your knockback and pulls you toward whatever you’ve just hit, so the Crescent Spear keeps you close to the mob rather than knocking it away. The Enchantments page has the rest of the mod’s enchantments, and which weapons each of them can go on.
Tips
The dash with the Crescent Spear is a really good way of getting around in the Starlight Dimension, as long as you’re close to the ground, since the cooldown is only a second. It will need ground within 5 blocks underneath, which means it won’t work to get you across a big ravine, but it’s fine for crossing a lake or running up a hill.
When the Crescent Spear hits something during a dash, you’ll get a short moment of invulnerability as well, which means dashing into a mob is a lot safer than it looks. It’s still worth having a Shield in your offhand for anything that fires projectiles, as the spear won’t protect you from those while you’re lining up the next dash.
FAQ
The Lunar Monstrosity drops the Crescent Spear 75% of the time when it’s defeated in the Cursed Garden. If it doesn’t drop, it can be crafted from 3 Deepsilver Ingots, 2 Tenacious Petals and a Tenacious Vine, and the Petals and Vines come from that same boss.
Hold right-click for half a second and let go, which launches you forward in the direction you’re looking, like a Trident with Riptide. You’ll need to have ground or water within 5 blocks below you, and hitting a mob or a wall during the dash strikes every mob within 3 blocks of you.
Fearless increases the knockback of your attacks and pulls you toward the mob you’ve hit, so you’ll lunge in after it rather than being left behind. It goes on sharp weapons like swords and spears, including the Crescent Spear, and it has 2 levels, with the second one pulling you in harder.
The Crescent Pendant is an accessory dropped by the Lunar Monstrosity, which caps any damage you take at 75% of your maximum health. When it’s combined onto your armor, it will also repair the Crescent Spear and the other weapons made from Lunar Monstrosity drops by 1 durability every 30 seconds.
