The Slime is one of the races you’re able to pick when you reincarnate in Tensura: Reincarnated, and it’s the only one rated Extreme, as you’ll start out tiny, slow and with just 10 health. It makes up for that with half damage from physical attacks, a charged jump and an evolution line that goes all the way up to the God Slime.
It’s also the race that every player will start as with the Starts as Rimuru game rule, alongside Predator and Great Sage, so it’s the one most players think of first with this mod. From there you’ll either turn into a Metal Slime by dissolving
Magic Ore, or wait until you awaken as a True Demon Lord to become a Demon Slime.
Playing as a Slime
A new Slime starts with 10 health, a quarter of the normal player size and noticeably slower movement, and your fists will barely do any damage at first. Your starting Aura and Magicule are low as well, somewhere between 200 and 500 of each, so you’ll be relying on your skills rather than your stats for a while.

What keeps a Slime alive is that physical attacks only deal half damage to you, which applies to every Slime form until a Physical Attack Resistance or Nullification takes over from it. You’ll also take half damage from falling, jump much higher than other races and can drop further before fall damage starts, so getting around is a lot easier than the slow walking speed suggests.
The Slime’s race ability is a charged jump. Holding the race ability key builds up a leap for up to 2 seconds, which is shown as a power meter, and letting go launches you in the direction you’re looking, with the charge time growing as you evolve. It only works while you’re standing on solid ground, so you won’t be able to use it in water or mid-air.
Slimes are Majin, so you won’t run out of air underwater, and your hunger never drops below 18, which means you won’t need to eat either. Majin are also able to become a Demon Lord Seed and awaken as a True Demon Lord, though they can’t become a Hero, and that’s the path every Slime takes to reach Demon Slime.
If you turn on the Hardcore Race game rule, a Slime will have True Blindness and Blindness until it’s able to gain Presence Sense. Sense skills like Magic Sense give you Presence Sense, and so does Universal Perception once you reach Demon Slime, after which you’ll be able to see normally.
Intrinsic Skills
As a Slime you’ll start out with Absorb and Dissolve and Self-Regeneration as Intrinsic Skills, and you’ll keep both of them through every evolution. Self-Regeneration speeds up your healing, which matters a lot when you only have 10 health to work with.
Absorb and Dissolve lets you dissolve certain items in your hand to consume them straight away, and you’ll get some energy back when you do, and sometimes health as well. It’s also how you’ll count up the
Magic Ore you’ll need for the Metal Slime.
| Form | Skills Added |
|---|---|
| Slime | Absorb and Dissolve, Self-Regeneration |
| Metal Slime | Body Armor, Physical Attack Resistance, resistances to Cold, Corrosion, Darkness, Earth, Electricity, Gravity, Heat, Light, Spatial, Water and Wind |
| Demon Slime | Possession, Infinite Regeneration, Universal Perception, Physical Attack Nullification, Magic Resistance, Spiritual Attack Resistance, the same elemental resistances |
| God Slime | Divine Ki Release |
Each evolution adds more Intrinsic Skills on top of these two, which you can see in the table above. None of them will cost you anything to acquire, as the skills you get from your race are free.
Slime Evolutions
A Slime is able to evolve into a Metal Slime or a Demon Slime, and since a Metal Slime can go on to the Demon Slime as well, the two routes will meet up again. God Slime is the final form after Demon Slime. You’ll see your progress in the Evolution Menu, and once a requirement reaches 100% the evolution becomes available to pick.
Slime
Metal Slime
Demon Slime
God Slime
The Metal Slime is the only one of these that needs an item, and it’s also the one you’re able to reach first. The other two come later in the game, as they’ll need you to awaken and then build up a lot of EP.
Metal Slime
You’ll unlock the Metal Slime by consuming 100
Magic Ore, which you’ll do by dissolving it with Absorb and Dissolve or Predator‘s Isolation mode. Magic Ore is what the blocks will drop when you mine them without Silk Touch, and wild Metal Slimes drop 5 to 8 of it when they’re killed, so hunting them is a quick way to make up the numbers.
If you have Predator, remember that eating Magic Ore with Predation gives you the Magic Ore block rather than the Magic Ore item, and the block doesn’t count toward Metal Slime. You’ll want to mine it normally, or place the blocks back down and mine them, to get the item.
As a Metal Slime you’ll have 100 health, and you’ll get Body Armor and Physical Attack Resistance along with it. It also picks up resistances to a long list of elemental attacks, like Cold, Heat and Wind, so it’s a much harder target than the starting Slime, and it’s still able to evolve into a Demon Slime later on.
Demon Slime
Demon Slime is reached by awakening as a True Demon Lord, and you’re able to do this from the Slime or the Metal Slime. As a Majin, you’ll become a Demon Lord Seed once your Existence Points reach 200,000, and then you’ll need 10,000 souls before the option to awaken shows up in your menu.
Being Named while you’re a Demon Lord Seed will cost you the Seed, which means losing your path to Demon Slime until you become a Seed again. Make sure you’ve awakened before you let anyone give you a name.
As a Demon Slime you’ll have a lot more health and energy, and you’ll only take a quarter of the fall damage you normally would. It adds a lot of new skills as well, including Infinite Regeneration and Physical Attack Nullification, and it keeps the same elemental resistances a Metal Slime has.
God Slime
The God Slime is the last form, and you’ll be able to unlock it once your Demon Slime reaches 2,000,000 Existence Points. Only your base Aura and Magicule will count toward this, without any temporary boosts, so you’ll need to grow well past what the Demon Slime starts with, mostly through EP from kills and Predation.

It keeps every skill from the Demon Slime and adds Divine Ki Release, along with the biggest jump in health and energy in the whole line. A God Slime also takes no fall damage at all, and its charged jump builds for up to 4 seconds, which is twice as long as the starting Slime’s.
Growing With Slime Cores
As a Slime, you’re able to grow by dissolving
Slime Cores, and each one makes you a step bigger and adds 5 Max Health. This stops at 37.5 extra Max Health, and sneaking while you dissolve one shrinks you back down a step instead, which is useful if you’d rather stay small enough to fit through gaps.
Slime Cores only drop from massive wild Slimes and Metal Slimes, and from the Supermassive Slime, so you won’t get them from the small ones. They’re also worth 50,000 Magicule when dissolved, which is one of the biggest refills you’re able to carry.
For most players, the next step after this is the Metal Slime, so the
Magic Ore page is the one you’ll want to read next, as it covers where to find the ore. The Evolution System page then explains how the rest of the line is unlocked.
Frequently Asked Questions
Dissolve 100
Magic Ore with Absorb and Dissolve or Predator‘s Isolation mode, then pick Metal Slime in the Evolution Menu. Only the item will count, so you’ll want to mine the ore without Silk Touch rather than eating the blocks. Killing wild Metal Slimes is a quick way to make up the rest.
You’ll need to awaken as a True Demon Lord, which means reaching 200,000 Existence Points to become a Demon Lord Seed and then gathering 10,000 souls. Awakening turns a Slime or Metal Slime into a Demon Slime, as long as you haven’t lost the Seed by being Named. It’s the longest step in the line, so you’ll want to start working on it early.
With the Hardcore Race game rule on, a Slime will be blind until it gains Presence Sense. Learning a sense skill like Magic Sense fixes it, and Universal Perception from Demon Slime does as well, whereas with the game rule off a Slime can see normally from the start.
Dissolving a
Slime Core grows you a step and adds 5 Max Health each time, up to 37.5 extra Max Health. Evolving makes you a little bigger as well, and sneaking while you dissolve a Slime Core will shrink you back down instead, which is handy if you’d like to stay small.
