Best Unique Skills

The best Unique Skill in Tensura: Reincarnated is Predator, which takes skills and EP from everything it eats and leads on to Gluttony. Creator is the most flexible pick, as it lets you create other Unique Skills for 20 minutes at a time, including Anti-Skill, while Great Sage speeds up learning every other skill you have. Cook gets you through bosses that dodge or hide behind barriers, and Pride, Infinity Prison, Shadow Striker, Murderer and Reflector round out the list, and each entry comes with the Maximum Magicule it costs if you reroll into it. A free reroll needs a Character Reset Scroll.

The best Unique Skill in Tensura: Reincarnated is Predator, as it will keep making you stronger for the whole game by taking skills and EP from everything that it eats. Creator is the most flexible one you’re able to roll, whereas Great Sage is the one that helps you learn every other skill a lot faster.

You’ll be given one Unique Skill at random when you first reincarnate, and it’s free that way, so the list below is about which ones are worth hoping for and which are worth rerolling into later. Each of them has a page of its own, with every mode and number, and the full list of 59 is on the All Unique Skills page.

How These Are Ranked

Every skill here is one you’re able to get from the free roll, and they’re ranked on how much they’ll do for you across a whole playthrough, from the first night to the late-game bosses. A skill that keeps growing with you will sit above one that’s strong at the start and then stops, and a skill’s cost only matters if you plan to reroll into it with a Skill Reset Scroll.

None of them is a bad roll, as every Unique Skill can be built around, though a few will carry a lot more of the game for you than others. The cost in brackets is the Maximum Magicule that the skill will take if you get it any way other than the free roll.

The Best Unique Skills

1

Predator

50,000 Maximum Magicule

Predator lets you eat mobs and blocks, and you’ll be able to take the skills of whatever it eats along with it, so it keeps adding to what you can do for the whole game. Killing something with it will also turn 30% of that mob’s EP into Maximum Magicule for you, which is why you’ll grow a lot faster with it than you would with the rest of these.

It’s also the first half of Gluttony, and you’ll be able to work toward that once it’s mastered. Since it eats blocks as well, it can collect Magic Ore without a Netherite Pickaxe, and its Analysis mode is used to turn that ore into Pure Magisteel without a Kiln, so you won’t have to wait on the Nether to get started.

2

Creator

75,000 Maximum Magicule

Creator is used to make other Unique Skills for yourself, like Cook, Healer, Sniper and Anti-Skill, and whatever you create will be yours for 20 minutes before it goes away again. There’s a cooldown of the same length before you’re able to make the next one, though it still lets you bring the right skill to each fight rather than being stuck with one.

The catch is that none of them will stay for long, and it can’t make the biggest ones like Predator or Great Sage either. It’s the only way you’re able to get Anti-Skill, though, and once you’ve mastered it, you’ll get that one already fully mastered as well.

3

Great Sage

75,000 Maximum Magicule

Great Sage will add 9 learn points and 9 mastery points every time you earn them, for every skill you have, which is more than double what Cook gives. It’s one that you’ll want switched on for most of the game, as it doubles your chant speed while it’s on, and its Analysis mode can be used to copy skills from the mobs and spells around you.

4

Cook

60,000 Maximum Magicule

With Cook switched on, every hit you land will be a critical hit that can’t be dodged, and the target’s resistances are ignored as well. That’s enough to get you through the bosses that rely on dodging or barriers, and its Chaotic Fate mode will also cut a target’s Maximum Health by however much damage you deal, so a strong enemy’s health keeps shrinking as you hit it.

5

Pride

100,000 Maximum Magicule

Pride copies the abilities that you’re hit by, and each one you copy is added as a new mode that you’re able to use yourself. It only has a 20% chance to copy at first, though that becomes a sure thing once it’s mastered, and from then on it will copy abilities that put status effects on you as well.

It grows from getting hit, so it takes a while to build up, but Otherworlders will give you Unique Skill attacks to copy even in single player. On a server with other players, you’ll find a lot more to copy, as every Unique Skill that hits you is a chance to add another mode.

6

Infinity Prison

90,000 Maximum Magicule

Infinity Prison is used to lock a target in place for up to five minutes, or ten once it’s mastered, and while it’s locked away, it can’t move, attack or heal as its Magicule drains. As long as the skill is on your bar, it will also block the hits from any attacker whose EP is below 75% of yours, and it comes with the biggest item storage of any skill.

7

Shadow Striker

60,000 Maximum Magicule

Shadow Striker makes you faster and lets you cast your spells twice as quickly while it’s switched on. Its modes are used to dash through a line of enemies, land a hit that goes for their Spiritual Health or hide yourself away, and since two of them work through the weapon you’re holding, it suits a melee build best.

8

Murderer

50,000 Maximum Magicule

Holding Murderer will make you invisible and add 50 attack damage for as long as you hold it, and every sound you make is silenced as well. Once it’s mastered, you’re able to switch that on for good, with a much bigger 150 damage bonus, so there isn’t much to learn before you’re getting a lot out of it.

9

Reflector

30,000 Maximum Magicule

Reflector stores up the damage you take as points, which you’re able to fire back as a piercing shot for three times as much, and its second mode lets you brace for a hit and send it back even harder. It suits a sturdy race that can soak up hits, like a Giant or an Ogre, and it’s the cheapest of these if you’d like to reroll into it later.

Gluttony, the One You Can’t Roll

Gluttony is stronger than anything on the list, though it can’t come from the roll at all. You’ll get it once you have a mastered Predator and the Starved skill at the same time, and Starved comes from the Orc Lord race or from stealing it off an Orc Lord or the Orc Disaster.

Its Predation is a mist that you’ll hold down instead, which reaches a lot further than the old one and is able to take a few skills at once from whatever it hits. It costs 100,000 Maximum Magicule to unlock, so it’s worth saving up for it while you’re still working on mastering Predator.

If You Didn’t Roll One of These

Whatever you rolled, it’s worth learning it and seeing what it can do before you think about rerolling, as every one of them can be built around. You’re able to get a free reroll from a Character Reset Scroll, though it needs Pure Magisteel to make and it will reset your race and your progress along with it.

A Skill Reset Scroll keeps your race but charges the new skill’s full cost, so rolling into Pride that way would take 100,000 of your Maximum Magicule. If you don’t have enough of it, you’ll end up without a Unique Skill at all, which is why it’s worth checking how much you have first.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best Unique Skill in Tensura: Reincarnated?
›

Predator is the strongest one you’re able to roll, as it takes skills and EP from everything it eats and leads on to Gluttony. Creator is the most flexible, since it lets you create 39 other Unique Skills for 20 minutes at a time.

What is the best Unique Skill for beginners?
›

Great Sage is the easiest one to start with, as it adds 9 learn points and 9 mastery points to every skill, so you’ll learn everything else a lot faster. Murderer is a simple pick as well, since holding it makes you invisible and adds 50 attack damage.

Can you get Gluttony from the roll?
›

It isn’t in the roll, as you’ll only get it once you have a mastered Predator and Starved at the same time. Starved comes free with the Orc Lord race, or you’re able to steal it with Predator from an Orc Lord or the Orc Disaster, which is how most players will end up getting it.

How do you reroll your Unique Skill?
›

You’ll need one of the Reset Scrolls for it, and the one that gives you a free reroll will also reset your race and your progress. The other one lets you keep your race, but it charges you the full cost of whatever skill you end up with, so it’s worth saving up before you use it.
