Frequently asked questions

Which structures can it find?

Villages, ruined portals, trial chambers, desert pyramids, jungle temples, witch huts, igloos, pillager outposts, shipwrecks, trail ruins, ocean monuments, woodland mansions and strongholds in the Overworld, Nether fortresses and bastions in the Nether, and End cities in the End.

How accurate are the structure positions?

We checked the map against Mojang's own server and villages, ruined portals, trial chambers, temples, igloos, shipwrecks, outposts, ancient cities, Nether fortresses, bastions and End cities matched exactly.

Why do small structures only appear when I zoom in?

Ruined portals, shipwrecks and similar small structures are very common, so they appear as you zoom in to keep the map readable. Use Find nearest to jump straight to one.

Can I find a stronghold without the seed?

Yes. Throw two Eyes of Ender from different spots and use our Stronghold Finder to work out where the lines cross.

Are structures in the same place on Bedrock?

No. Bedrock uses the same biomes for a seed but places structures differently, so these positions are for Java Edition.
