Relics is a mod that introduces over 20 new items into Minecraft, offering additional functionality to players at all stages of the game. It’s also compatible with other mods, such as Artifacts, from which the Panic Necklace originates, adding over another 30 Relics.
Each Relic comes with a single ability or multiple, that can be leveled up and upgraded over time. You can learn about all the other available items in our Relics Mod Wiki.
Obtaining
Quickens the Relic Bearer’s heartbeat, warning of impending danger. It can be equipped in the Necklace slot.

The Panic Necklace Relic can generally be found in mines or caves, as it can spawn in both biomes with key terms such as Cave, Cavern, Grotto, Hollow, Den, Chamber, Crypt, or Subterranean in their names, where they have a spawn weight of 300.
Alternatively, they can spawn in Chests with loot tables containing the term Mine, meaning they can be found in Mineshafts where their spawn weight is 500.
Relic Quality & Rerolling
When you pick up a Relic, it comes with a quality indicator that you can see by hovering over the portrait image or by looking at the circles underneath it. Each Relic is rated between 0 and 5, based on the quality of its individual abilities.
An ability’s stats can be rerolled, with each stat having a specified minimum and maximum value (refer to the abilities section below for details). To further increase the stats beyond these limits, you will need to use Upgrade Points. Rerolling costs 50 Minecraft Experience for each attempt. Additionally, each time the stats are rerolled, the Luck value will increase by one percent for every stat that hasn’t been successfully improved.
As Luck increases, the likelihood of obtaining better rerolled stats also rises. However, each percentage point of Luck will raise the reroll cost by an additional 5 Minecraft Experience points. For example, at 10% Luck, a reroll would cost 100 Minecraft Experience, while at 50% Luck, the cost would be 300 Minecraft Experience, and so on.
Usage
The Panic Necklace Relic features a passive ability called Panic, which activates the moment it is equipped. This ability allows the Relic Bearer to run faster when fleeing from danger, as it detects nearby enemies within a certain distance from the player. Essentially, this makes the Necklace Relic a valuable tool for survival, helping players avoid hostile entities.
The ideal use case for this feature is in mines or caves, where enemy entities can appear within a specified distance in all directions—above, below, or through other passageways. This positioning enables a more frequent stacking of the speed bonus.
Abilities

An ability is available for the Panic Necklace: Panic. The Panic Necklace has a maximum level of 10. A total of 10 Upgrade Points can be obtained through leveling the Panic Necklace.
1Panic
While equipped, The Necklace provides a passive ability which increases the player’s movement speed by X% for each mob within a Y blocks radius targeting the player for attack.
This allows the player to flee more easily or move around more quickly, enabling better overall navigation in combat. The effect is noticeable through a change in the field of view, as the screen’s perspective shifts when Panic is activated.
Panic costs 1 Upgrade Points per level, with a maximum level of 10.
Panic Chances
VARIABLE | BASE VALUE | MAX VALUE |
|---|---|---|
X | 1% – 2% | 4% |
Y | 6 – 8 Blocks Radius | 16 Blocks Radius |
Constellations
To unlock an ability for the Panic Necklace, it’s necessary to connect the stars hidden beneath the fog in such a way that the resulting constellation matches the image in the background, and completes the puzzle. When the constellation is correctly aligned, the ability will automatically be researched.

Above is the constellation for the Panic Necklace, allowing players to unlock the Panic ability. Hints can be unlocked in the research window for 50 Minecraft Experience each, or the entire constellation can be revealed for 150 Minecraft Experience.
Experience Sources
Relic Experience is required to level up a Relic, gain Upgrade Points, and spend said points on upgrading abilities. The Panic Necklace offers two different ways to obtain Relic Experience.
To level up the Panic Necklace Relic, the wearer must survive taking damage while the Panic ability is active. For each instance of damage taken from enemies while under the effect of the Panic ability, the Relic gains +1 Relic Experience.
Like many other Relics, the Panic Necklace makes use of Experience Spreading. Each time any Relic in the inventory gains experience, regardless of the method, the Panic Necklace also gains 25% of that experience.
Leveling
The Panic Necklace Relic has a maximum level of 10, providing 10 Upgrade Points. The table below shows the cost of upgrading abilities.
Panic Necklace Ability Leveling
LEVEL | Minecraft XP | Total XP |
|---|---|---|
1 | 50 | 50 |
2 | 100 | 150 |
3 | 150 | 300 |
4 | 200 | 500 |
5 | 250 | 750 |
6 | 300 | 1050 |
7 | 350 | 1400 |
8 | 400 | 1800 |
9 | 450 | 2250 |
10 | 500 | 2750 |
To level an ability to level 10, a total of 2750 Minecraft Experience is required, equating to 45 Minecraft levels, as well as 10 Upgrade Points.
Config
To edit the configuration for an Artifact-compatible Relic, players must update the enabledExtendedConfigs: false option within relics.yaml in their Minecraft config folder, by changing the value to true.
After relaunching Minecraft, a rarcompat folder will be visible in the config folder. Inside here, look for and edit the panic_necklace.yaml file.
