Relics is a mod that introduces over 20 new items into Minecraft, offering additional functionality to players at all stages of the game. It’s also compatible with other mods, such as Ars Nouveau with the Reliquified Ars Nouveau mod, from which the Horn of the Wild Hunter originates, adding even more Relics themed around the magic elements and structures from this mod.
Each Relic comes with a single ability or multiple, that can be leveled up and upgraded over time. You can learn about all the other available items in our Relics Mod Wiki.
Obtaining
A One of the horns from the head of a massive wolf, whose howl could summon hounds to its aid. Meaning this Relic can summon hounds. It can be equipped in the head slot of the Curios interface.

There are two locations where the Horn of the Wild Hunter can be found. The first is within Chests in biomes that are of a magic theme, or using terms such as Archwood, Flashing, Cascading, Flourishing, Blazing, Esoteric, Enigmatic, Mysterious, Obscur, Crypt, Occult, Secret, Arcan, Mag, Sorcer, Wizard, Enchantment, Witch, Spell, Necroman, Divinat, Charm, Alchem, and Ars in the biome name.
The second location is inside any Chest, as long as it uses a loot table that contains any of the same terms above, or any Chest that uses a ars themed loot table. In both places, the Horn of the Wild Hunter has a spawn weight of 600.
Relic Quality & Rerolling
When you pick up a Relic, it comes with a quality indicator that you can see by hovering over the portrait image or by looking at the circles underneath it. Each Relic is rated between 0 and 5, based on the quality of its individual abilities.
An ability’s stats can be rerolled, with each stat having a specified minimum and maximum value (refer to the abilities section below for details). To further increase the stats beyond these limits, you will need to use Upgrade Points. Rerolling costs 50 Minecraft Experience for each attempt. Additionally, each time the stats are rerolled, the Luck value will increase by one percent for every stat that hasn’t been successfully improved.
As Luck increases, the likelihood of obtaining better rerolled stats also rises. However, each percentage point of Luck will raise the reroll cost by an additional 5 Minecraft Experience points. For example, at 10% Luck, a reroll would cost 100 Minecraft Experience, while at 50% Luck, the cost would be 300 Minecraft Experience, and so on.
Usage
To use the Horn of the Wild Hunter, equip it in the Head slot of the Curios Interface. Once equipped, this passive Relic activates automatically, requiring no input from the player.
When the horn is equipped, it permanently adds two wolves to your side, which have enhanced damage output compared to regular wolves. This relic is combat-oriented and would aid massively in combat against other living entities.
Abilities

One ability is available for the Horn of the Wild Hunter: Wild Hounds. The Horn of the Wild Hunter has a maximum level of 10. A total of 10 Upgrade Points can be obtained through leveling the Horn of the Wild Hunter.
1Wild Hounds
Summons two invulnerable wolves that fight alongside the player. Each wolf deals an additional X Damage.
This ability summons two strong wolves with enhanced damage. It’s a powerful Relic, as the wolves will always be alongside the player until they’re slain, at which point they’ll respawn after a short amount of time.
The Wild Hounds’ ability costs 1 Upgrade Point per level, with a maximum level of 10.
Wild Hounds Chances
VARIABLE | BASE VALUE | MAX VALUE |
|---|---|---|
X | 1 – 5 Additional Damage | 15 Additional Damage |
Experience Sources
Relic Experience is required to level up a Relic, gain Upgrade Points, and spend said points on upgrading abilities. The Horn of the Wild Hunter offers two different ways to obtain Relic Experience.
Players will gain +1 Relic Experience for every attack made by a wolf summoned by the Wild Hounds ability. Players will naturally acquire experience as they utilize the Horn of the Wild Hunter Relic’s intended usage.
Like many other Relics, the Horn of the Wild Hunter makes use of Experience Spreading. Each time any Relic in the inventory gains experience, regardless of the method, the Horn of the Wild Hunter also gains 25% of that experience.
Leveling
The Horn of the Wild Hunter Relic has a maximum level of 10, providing 10 Upgrade Points. The table below shows the cost of upgrading abilities.

Config
To edit the configuration for an Ars Nouveau-compatible Relic, players must update the enabledExtendedConfigs: false option within relics.yaml in their Minecraft config folder, by changing the value to true.
After relaunching Minecraft, a reliquified_ars_nouveau folder will be visible in the config folder. Inside here, look for and edit the horn_of_the_wild_hunter.yaml file.
