Phantom Boot
The 
Phantom Boot is one of over 30 unique Relics added by the Relics mod for Minecraft. Each Relic gives you powerful abilities that you can level up and customize, adding new gameplay options whether you’re just starting out or deep into the endgame.
Relics use Curios slots – special equipment slots added by the Curios mod that let you wear accessories alongside your regular armor. You can find Relics in loot 
Chests throughout the world, with each one appearing in specific biomes and structures based on its theme. Once you find a Relic, you can upgrade it using experience to unlock stronger abilities and better stats.

Obtaining
The Phantom Boot condenses matter beneath your feet, creating a path through any terrain – even where no solid ground exists. This Relic is worn on the Feet.
The Phantom Boot can be found in End-themed chests, including End Cities, Strongholds, and any chest within The End dimension. End City and Stronghold chests have a higher spawn weight, making them the best places to search. There is a 2.5% chance for this Relic to appear in each eligible chest.
Relic Quality & Rerolling
Every Relic you find has a quality rating between 0 and 5 stars, shown by the circles beneath its portrait. This rating reflects how good the starting stats rolled when the Relic was generated – higher quality means better initial values.
Each stat on a Relic has a minimum and maximum possible value. When you first obtain a Relic, its stats are randomly rolled within this range. If you’re unhappy with the roll, you can reroll the stats by spending 100 Minecraft Experience. This gives you a chance at better values, though results are still random.
Every time you reroll and a stat doesn’t improve, your Luck percentage increases by one. Higher Luck improves your odds of rolling better stats on future attempts. However, each point of Luck also adds 5 Experience to the reroll cost. At 10% Luck the cost rises to 150 Experience, and at 50% Luck it reaches 350 Experience.
To push stats beyond their maximum base values, you’ll need to spend Upgrade Points earned from leveling the Relic. Rerolling only affects the base stat range – upgrades are applied on top of whatever values you roll.
Usage
The Phantom Boot creates temporary phantom blocks beneath your feet as you walk, allowing you to traverse gaps, walk over lava, and navigate terrain that would otherwise be impossible. Simply equip the boots and walk – the phantom bridge appears automatically below you, forming an oval-shaped platform that extends in your movement direction.
The bridge mechanic has an important twist: if you stand still for too long, you’ll fall through. At base stats, you only have 0.25 to 1 second before you drop, but upgrading increases this to 6 seconds at max level. While you’re moving, the timer resets, so keep walking to stay safe. Sneaking (holding Shift) forces you to fall through the bridge immediately – useful when you want to descend intentionally.
The ability is toggleable – hold ALT to turn it on or off. When toggled on, you can walk off edges, and the phantom bridge catches you. If you fall from a height while the ability is active, the boots will cushion your landing by reducing your fall velocity and creating phantom blocks to break your fall.
This Relic shines in The En,d where one misstep means falling into the void. It’s also excellent for exploring caves, crossing lava lakes, or building at heights without placing blocks. The satisfying feeling of walking on air makes exploration feel effortless, turning treacherous terrain into a casual stroll.
Abilities
The Phantom Boot has 1 ability: Phantom Bridge. With a maximum Relic level of 10, you can earn up to 10 Upgrade Points to invest entirely in this ability.
Phantom Bridge is available immediately at level 0, so you can start using the Relic as soon as you find it. All Upgrade Points go toward extending how long you can stand still on the bridge before falling through.
Phantom Bridge
Creates a temporary phantom bridge beneath the player’s feet that any relic owner can walk on. If the player stands still on the bridge for more than X seconds, they will fall through and cannot get back up until they reach solid ground. While sneaking, the player is forced to fall through the phantom bridge blocks.
Phantom Bridge creates an oval-shaped platform of phantom blocks that appears beneath your feet as you walk. The bridge extends further in your movement direction based on your speed – move faster, and the platform stretches ahead of you. Other players who own Relics can also walk on your phantom bridge, making this useful for cooperative play.
The duration stat determines how long you can stand still before falling through. At base stats, this is extremely short (0.25 to 1 second), requiring constant movement to stay airborne. Maxing out this ability extends the timer to 6 seconds, giving you breathing room to stop and look around without immediately plummeting. The ability toggles with ALT and automatically activates when you step off solid ground.
Phantom Bridge unlocks at Relic level 0 and costs 1 Upgrade Point(s) per level, with a maximum ability level of 10.

Constellations
Before you can use an ability, it must first be researched. Each ability has a constellation puzzle that you need to solve by connecting stars hidden beneath fog. When the constellation matches the background pattern, the ability unlocks automatically.
The Phantom Boot has one constellation puzzle to unlock the Phantom Bridge ability. The pattern features 6 stars arranged in an abstract shape.
If you’re stuck on a puzzle, you can purchase hints for 50 Minecraft Experience each. Alternatively, reveal the entire constellation instantly for 300 Experience.
Experience Sources
Relic Experience is required to level up a Relic, gain Upgrade Points, and spend those points on upgrading abilities. The Phantom Boot offers 1 different way to earn Relic Experience.
The primary method is through the Phantom Bridge ability. Each time a phantom block is created beneath your feet, there is a 10% chance to earn +1 Relic Experience. Simply walking around generates XP passively, though the low proc rate means you’ll need to cover significant ground to level up.
Like all Relics, the Phantom Boot benefits from Experience Spreading. Whenever any equipped Relic gains experience, 25% of that amount is shared with all other Relics in your inventory.
Experience Spreading is a passive mechanic that helps level up Relics you aren’t actively using. If you gain 100 Relic Experience on one item, every other Relic in your inventory receives 25 bonus experience. This makes it worthwhile to carry multiple Relics even before you can use them all.
Leveling
The Phantom Boot has a maximum level of 10, providing 10 Upgrade Points total. Each level requires progressively more Minecraft Experience, as shown in the table below.

Reaching level 10 requires a total of 5,500 Minecraft Experience, equivalent to approximately 32 player levels.
Since the Phantom Boot only has one ability, just put all 10 points into Phantom Bridge as you level up. Prioritize getting to at least 3-4 points early to extend the standing duration to around 2-3 seconds – this makes the Relic much more comfortable to use since you won’t immediately fall through every time you pause.
Related Relics
Works Well With: The 
Midnight Robe provides stealth abilities that complement the Phantom Boot’s mobility, letting you traverse dangerous areas unseen.
Alternatives: If you don’t have access to the Phantom Boot, the 
Ring of the Spectral Walker from the Ars Nouveau compatibility addon offers block phasing at the cost of mana, providing a different approach to traversing difficult terrain.
Config
Server operators and modpack creators can customize the Phantom Boot through configuration files. To enable per-Relic configuration, first set enabledExtendedConfigs: true in the main relics.yaml file located in your Minecraft config folder.
After restarting the game, a Relics folder will appear in the config directory. The Phantom Boot can be configured by editing phantom_boot.yaml.
