Feral Claws
The
Feral Claws is a Relic added by Reliquified Artifacts, an addon that brings the Relics mod’s leveling and ability system to Artifacts items. It stacks attack speed with each consecutive hit you land, turning sustained melee combat into an accelerating frenzy of strikes.
Originally from the Artifacts mod, the Feral Claws gain the full Relics leveling system through RAR-Compat, adding the Beast’s Fury ability. Each hit you land within a 3-second window adds a charge, and each charge directly boosts your attack speed – keep the combo alive and you’ll be swinging far faster than any enchantment alone can achieve.
This guide covers everything you need to know about the Feral Claws, including how to obtain it, its abilities, leveling costs, and configuration options. For information on other items from this mod, visit our Relics Mod Wiki.
The Feral Claws requires both the Artifacts mod and the RAR-Compat (Reliquified Artifacts) addon to be installed. The Artifacts mod provides the base item, while RAR-Compat adds the Relic leveling system, abilities, and stats on top of it.
Obtaining
Awakens a bloodthirsty instinct in the relic bearer, making them fight faster with each consecutive attack. This Relic is worn on the Hands.

The Feral Claws can be found in any
chest in the Overworld dimension. It spawns across all biomes and structure types – from dungeons, mineshafts, and temples to village and stronghold chests. The Feral Claws appear in every eligible Overworld chest loot pool with a weight of 100, giving it a moderate chance of turning up wherever chests generate above the Nether.
Relic Quality & Rerolling
Every Relic you find has a quality rating between 0 and 5 stars, shown by the circles beneath its portrait. This rating reflects how good the starting stats rolled when the Relic was generated – higher quality means better initial values.
Each stat on a Relic has a minimum and maximum possible value. When you first obtain a Relic, its stats are randomly rolled within this range. If you’re unhappy with the roll, you can reroll the stats by spending 50 Minecraft Experience. This gives you a chance at better values, though results are still random.
Every time you reroll and a stat doesn’t improve, your Luck percentage increases by one. Higher Luck improves your odds of rolling better stats on future attempts. However, each point of Luck also adds 5 Experience to the reroll cost. At 10% Luck the cost rises to 100 Experience, and at 50% Luck it reaches 300 Experience.
To push stats beyond their maximum base values, you’ll need to spend Upgrade Points earned from leveling the Relic. Rerolling only affects the base stat range – upgrades are applied on top of whatever values you roll.
Usage
When worn on the Hands, the Feral Claws activate Beast’s Fury the moment you enter combat. Each hit you land within 3 seconds of the previous swing adds one charge, and your attack speed increases by the stat’s value for every charge in your stack. Chain hits together and your swing rate climbs well above normal – land ten consecutive hits and you could be swinging at two to three times your base speed.
The critical mechanic to understand is timing. You must let your weapon’s attack cooldown bar fill completely before each swing – attacking before the bar is full instantly resets your entire charge stack to zero. This means the Feral Claws reward deliberate, rhythmic attacks over button mashing. If you stop attacking entirely, charges drain one at a time every 3 seconds until the stack runs out.

Beast’s Fury excels in prolonged fights where you have a continuous stream of targets. Mob farms, dungeon rooms packed with enemies, and high-health boss fights all give you the time and targets needed to build a large charge stack and benefit from it. Short skirmishes end before the ramp-up pays off, so the Feral Claws are at their weakest in one-hit scenarios or sparse overworld encounters.
At max ability level, each charge contributes 33% bonus attack speed. A stack of five charges alone gives you 165% additional attack speed on top of your base, which is far beyond what any sword enchantment provides. Pair the Feral Claws with a fast weapon like a sword rather than a slow axe – the shorter cooldown means more swings inside the 3-second window and less risk of triggering the unfilled-bar reset.
Abilities
The Feral Claws has 1 ability: Beast’s Fury. With a maximum Relic level of 10, you can earn up to 10 Upgrade Points to invest in this ability.
Beast’s Fury is available immediately when you equip the Feral Claws – it unlocks at Relic level 0 and requires no additional prerequisites. All 10 Upgrade Points go directly into improving this one ability, steadily increasing the attack speed bonus per charge from a base roll of 5-15% up to a maximum of 33%.
Beast's Fury

Increases your attack speed by X% for each consecutive attack performed within 3 seconds of the last. Otherwise, loses 1 charge per second. Attacking with an unfilled attack speed bar resets the accumulated charges.
Each hit you land adds one charge, and the total attack speed bonus equals X% multiplied by your charge count. At a base roll of 5-15% per charge, stacking five hits already gives you 25-75% extra attack speed before any upgrades. Level the ability up and that per-charge value rises to 33% at max level – five charges then gives you 165% additional attack speed, and the stack keeps climbing as long as you keep hitting.
The 3-second window gives you breathing room between swings, but don’t let fights drag on too long without contact. Charges drain one every 3 seconds once you stop attacking, so repositioning, drinking a potion, or chasing a fleeing mob can all bleed your stack.
More importantly, every attack you make must have a fully charged attack bar – the yellow bar beneath your hotbar in Minecraft 1.9 and later. If you swing early and that bar isn’t at 100%, all charges are immediately erased. Match your attack rhythm to your weapon’s natural cooldown and let the stack grow on its own.
Beast’s Fury unlocks at Relic level 0 and costs 1 Upgrade Point per level, with a maximum ability level of 10.

Constellations
Before you can use an ability, it must first be researched. Each ability has a constellation puzzle that you need to solve by connecting stars hidden beneath fog. When the constellation matches the background pattern, the ability unlocks automatically.

Above is the constellation for the Feral Claws, used to unlock the Beast’s Fury ability. This constellation contains 8 stars arranged in 4 connected pairs. Connect all 8 stars in the correct pattern to permanently unlock Beast’s Fury and begin earning Relic Experience through combat.
If you’re stuck on a puzzle, you can purchase hints for 50 Minecraft Experience each. Alternatively, reveal the entire constellation instantly for 400 Minecraft Experience (8 stars × 50 XP each).
Experience Sources
Relic Experience is required to level up a Relic, gain Upgrade Points, and spend those points on upgrading abilities. The Feral Claws offers 1 way to earn Relic Experience.
You earn +1 Relic Experience for each activation of the Beast’s Fury ability. In practice, this triggers each time you land an attack while your weapon’s cooldown bar is not yet fully recharged – meaning rapid consecutive combat naturally generates experience. The faster you’re attacking thanks to accumulated charges, the faster experience flows in, creating a rewarding loop where using the relic well also levels it up quickly.
Like all Relics, the Feral Claws benefits from Experience Spreading. Whenever any equipped Relic gains experience, 25% of that amount is shared with all other Relics in your inventory.
Experience Spreading is a passive mechanic that helps level up Relics you aren’t actively using. If you gain 100 Relic Experience on one item, every other Relic in your inventory receives 25 bonus experience. This makes it worthwhile to carry multiple Relics even before you can use them all.
Leveling
The Feral Claws has a maximum level of 10, providing 10 Upgrade Points total. Each level requires progressively more Minecraft Experience, as shown in the table below.
XP Cost
Total XP
Reaching level 10 requires a total of 5,500 Minecraft Experience, equivalent to approximately 50 player levels.
The Feral Claws levels naturally through combat since each Beast’s Fury activation awards +1 Relic XP. The most efficient approach is to use it in extended mob fights – mob farms and dungeon gauntlets where you chain dozens of timed hits generate experience quickly. Prioritize reaching max level as fast as possible: the gap between level 1 and level 10 is the difference between 5-15% per charge and 33% per charge, more than doubling the speed benefit at full stacks. If you have Experience Spreading active from other equipped Relics, the XP accumulates even faster during active sessions.
Related Relics
The Feral Claws reward staying in close-range combat continuously, so Relics that protect or reward you during sustained melee pair naturally with them. The
Cross Necklace (necklace, Reliquified Artifacts) extends the duration of your invulnerability frames after taking a hit, giving you more room to absorb damage and keep your charge stack alive without backing off.
The
Superstitious Hat (head, Reliquified Artifacts) stacks a looting bonus on each mob kill – with your attack speed ramping up through Beast’s Fury, you tear through mobs faster and accumulate those looting stacks well before fights wrap up.
If you don’t have the Feral Claws yet, the
Rage Glove (hands, Relics core) is the closest alternative for aggressive melee builds – it amplifies your damage output based on combat intensity, rewarding the same non-stop fighting style with raw power rather than speed.
The
Power Glove (hands, Reliquified Artifacts) offers a different offensive angle with damage procs on melee hits, trading the ramp-up mechanic for a more straightforward damage bonus that works well in shorter skirmishes.
Config
To edit the configuration for an Artifact-compatible Relic, update the enabledExtendedConfigs: false option within relics.yaml in your Minecraft config folder by changing the value to true.
After relaunching Minecraft, a rarcompat folder will appear in the config directory. Inside, look for and edit feral_claws.yaml.
