Cabinets are decorative storage blocks in Farmer’s Delight that combine compact visual design with full Chest capacity. These wall-mounted containers come in 11 wood variants matching all vanilla wood types, providing storage solutions that blend seamlessly into kitchen and home builds.

With 27 inventory slots matching a standard Chest or Barrel, Cabinets offer the same storage capacity as larger containers while taking up less visual space. They feature animated doors that open when accessed and close when no players are viewing the inventory, accompanied by distinct sound effects.

Cabinets work with Hoppers and other automation systems, provide redstone comparator output, and can be crafted using common materials from their respective wood types. The variety of wood options makes them ideal for matching any building aesthetic while maintaining practical storage functionality.

Obtaining

All 11 Cabinet variants share the same crafting pattern, requiring 6 Wood Slabs and 2 Wood Trapdoors of the matching wood type. The recipe uses a 3×3 pattern, with Slabs forming the top and bottom rows, and Trapdoors occupying the middle-left and middle-right positions.

Crafting materials are obtained through standard vanilla recipes: Planks create Slabs, and Planks create Trapdoors. Each wood type requires its specific variant of both materials to craft the corresponding Cabinet.

Cabinets break fastest when using an Axe, matching the properties of vanilla Barrels. Breaking a Cabinet drops itself along with all stored items. Like other storage containers, Cabinets do not retain their inventory when broken, so all contents spill onto the ground. Empty Cabinets before breaking them to avoid item scatter.

Storage Capacity

Cabinets provide 27 inventory slots arranged in 3 rows of 9, identical to a single Chest or Barrel. This capacity allows storage of up to 27 different item types or up to 1,728 items total when using full stacks.

Despite their smaller visual appearance compared to Chests, Cabinets offer the same internal storage space. The compact exterior makes them ideal for builds where visual space matters while storage capacity needs remain high.

Cabinets provide a Redstone Comparator output based on their inventory fullness, just like Chests and Barrels. This allows Cabinets to integrate into redstone contraptions that respond to storage levels. Redstone Comparators detect the fill level of Cabinets and output a signal strength from 0 to 15.

Empty Cabinets provide no signal, while full Cabinets output maximum strength. The signal strength calculation uses the standard container formula, accounting for both the number of items and the level of each stack. This makes Cabinets function identically to other storage blocks in redstone systems.

Automation Compatibility

Cabinets work with Hoppers and other item transport systems, making them fully compatible with automated storage and sorting systems. The automation support matches standard vanilla storage blocks.

Hopper Interaction

Hoppers can insert items into Cabinets from any side and extract items from any side. This bidirectional compatibility allows Cabinets to serve as both input and output points in automation systems.

Place Hoppers beneath Cabinets to automatically extract items, or connect Hoppers feeding into Cabinets to create organized storage endpoints. The standard Hopper transfer speed and behavior apply to Cabinet interactions.
