The Sculk Elytra is an upgrade to the standard Elytra and is one of the most sought-after items from the Deeper and Darker mod. It can be crafted, and to do so will require killing some creatures found within the Otherside.
Obtaining the Soul Elytra
To obtain the Sculk Eytra, players will require a standard Elytra, 4 Sculk Bones, 2 Sculk Dust, and a Soul Crystal. Obtaining all of these items takes time and exploration of the Otherside.
Four Sculk Bones are required, and these are obtained from the Shattered, who are guaranteed to drop one each time. Shattered can be found spawning within the Echoing Forest, with them being the only mobs that spawn here.
Soul Dust can be obtained from Sculk Leeches or Snappers, both of which will drop one when slain. To find Sculk Snappers, try searching the Deeplands. Whereas Sculk Leeches will spawn when breaking Infested Sculk blocks, also found in the Deeplands.
The final item that’s required is the Soul Crystal, which can only be obtained by killing the Stalker. When breaking Ancient Vases, which can be found in Ancient Cities or the Ancient Temple, there’s a chance for the Stalker to spawn, which is a mini boss.
Using the Soul Elytra
The Soul Elytra can be equipped into the Chest slot, and compared to the regular Elytra, it offers +3 armor points. It also comes with the ability to use a boost without Firework Rockets, which can be done every 30 seconds by pressing the B key.
Using this boost will help with exploring other dimensions, such as the Overworld. By editing the configuration files of Deeper and Darker, the boost cooldown can be adjusted from 30 seconds to any duration of your choosing.
When it comes to Enchantments, the Soul Elytra can be equipped with the Curse of Binding, Mending, Unbreaking, and the Curse of Vanishing.
