The Void Core is a ranged weapon from the Cataclysm mod. It’s one of the more powerful weapons, and with it having a huge range, it’s very useful to get early on, as it will make fighting other bosses, such as Ignis, much easier.
How to get the Void Core
The Void Core is a guaranteed drop from the Ender Golem. Three Ender Golems are found within the Ruined Citadel, the only dungeon added to the End, and houses the Ender Guardian boss.
The easiest way to find the Ruined Citadel is to craft the Eye of Void. These require 2 Endstone Bricks, 2 Purpur Blocks, 2 Purpur Pillars, an Eye of Ender, and 2 Shulker Shells. In the image below, you can see the complete recipe.
The Ender Golem has 150 health in total, being classed as a mini-boss. It also has 12 armor and some different attacks it can do, using the Void Core itself during the fight.
With multiple Ender Golems, obtaining numerous Void Cores from a single dungeon is possible. The Void Core is the only item dropped from the Ender Golem.
Using the Void Core
Using the Void Core is simple. While holding it, press the right mouse button to summon Void Ruines in front of you. Around 10 Void Runes will be summoned, reaching around 12 blocks ahead, damaging any entities in their path.
After being used, there’s around a ten second cooldown before the Void Core can be activated again. It’s one of the more powerful items that can be obtained from Cataclysm, and recommended to obtain it as soon as possible.
The Void Core is beneficial against bosses like Ignis or the Ancient Remnant, where you can consistently deal high amounts of damage from a distance.
Upgrading the Void Core
The Void Core can be placed in the Mechanical Fusion Anvil, which creates two new weapons. These are the Void Forge and the Void Assault Shoulder Weapon. It should be possible to create both of these while maintaining an additional Void Core.
A Void Forge is created by combining a Void Core with the Infernal Forge, which the Netherite Monstrosity drops. When striking the ground, it will summon Void Runes in a large fan shape while also being a viable weapon when on cooldown.
Meanwhile, the Void Assault Shoulder Weapon is obtained when combining the Void Core and Wither Assault Shoulder Weapon, which is created from Witherite and dropped by the Harbinger in the Ancient Factory. The Void Assult Shoulder Weapon will fire a projectile that summons Void Runes in a large circular shape where it lands.
