Players must locate and defeat this elusive subterranean creature to acquire the base ingredient necessary for creating Blessed Crab Meat.

The transformation process involves placing regular Crab Meat onto an Altar of Amethyst, a special block exclusively found within the Sunken City structure. This altar cannot be crafted through conventional means, making the Sunken City the only location where players can perform the blessing ritual.

The altar itself is a unique amethyst-based structure that accepts raw Crab Meat and converts it into its blessed form.

Players should be aware that the Altar of Amethyst is the only way to obtain Blessed Crab Meat in this mod. The fact that this altar cannot be crafted underlines the importance of thoroughly exploring the Sunken City before attempting to face its main boss.

Consuming Blessed Crab Meat grants the player the Blessing of Amethyst status effect for 90 seconds. This powerful buff provides complete immunity to three specific debilitating effects that are crucial during the Leviathan boss battle. The protected debuffs include Darkness, Abyssal Fear, and Abyssal Burn.

The Blessing of Amethyst is especially valuable during encounters with the Leviathan, as it actively inflicts all three debuffs: Darkness, Abyssal Fear, and Abyssal Burn. Without this protection, players suffer significant disadvantages, including reduced visibility from Darkness, impaired movement due to Abyssal Fear, and continuous damage over time from Abyssal Burn.

The timing of consuming Blessed Crab Meat is crucial when preparing for the Leviathan boss fight. Players generally eat the item right before engaging the boss or during short breaks in the battle as the 90-second duration begins to run out. The immunity window provided by the item allows players to concentrate on combat mechanics without having to deal with multiple negative status effects.
