Cursium Ingot

Cursium is a rare and powerful crafting material in the Cataclysm mod for Minecraft. It can only be obtained by defeating Maledictus, the final boss of the Frosted Prison dungeon. This high-tier material is essential for crafting some of the strongest weapons and armor available in the mod.

Obtaining

Players can obtain Cursium by defeating Maledictus, who drops three to four Cursium Ingots upon his defeat. Maledictus is found in the deepest chamber of the Frosted Prison dungeon.

After each defeat, he can be re-summoned by right-clicking the cursed tombstone, which reappears three minutes later. This allows players to farm Cursium through repeated encounters with him.

For storage and display purposes, nine Cursium Ingots can be combined to form a Cursium Block. However, its primary use is for creating some powerful and exclusive Cursium weapons.

Cursium Weapons

Annihilator

The Annihilator is a melee weapon designed in the style of Maledictus’s maces. It inflicts 7.5 hit points (HP) of damage per hit and is particularly effective at delivering critical damage.

When dual-wielded, charging the weapon for two seconds activates a shockwave that mimics the boss’s archaic resentment attack, dealing 15 HP of damage in an area. The Annihilator is unbreakable, can be enchanted, and is eligible for upgrades.

To upgrade the item, use an Ignitium Ingot at the Mechanical Fusion Anvil to produce the Immolator. This upgraded version improves the Flame Strike ability, a dual-weapon attack. Additionally, it applies the Blazing Brand debuff, which strips armor after multiple hits.

Soul Render

Soul Render is inspired by Maledictus’s Phantom Halberd. It features an extended reach and inflicts 15 HP of damage upon hit. A charged right-click ability combines Warrior’s Lunge with Thousand Pierced Fall, summoning Halberds around the player.

Alternatively, if the player sneaks while right-clicking, a large quantity of Halberds will be summoned in close proximity. Additionally, Soul Render is unbreakable and can be enchanted.

Cursed Bow

The Cursed Bow fires three arrows with each shot, and each arrow deals 5 HP damage. When using special arrows, only two are fired. This bow is unbreakable, can be enchanted, and is upgradeable.

When combined with the Sandstorm in a Bottle at the Mechanical Fusion Anvil, it transforms into the Wrath of the Desert. This upgraded bow launches three Cursed Sandstorms that each deal 6 HP damage and home in on targets.

Additionally, the sandstorms inflict the Curse of the Desert debuff, which inverts movement controls for players.

Cursium Armor Set

The Cursium Armor Set enhances Netherite gear using a unique Smithing Template. Each piece is unbreakable, can be enchanted, and provides special abilities.

• Helmet (Ghost Vision): Pressing C marks nearby entities with a glow effect for 7 seconds within a 25-block radius.
• Chestplate (Undead Revive): Prevents death once, restoring 5 HP and granting temporary invincibility. Comes with a 6-minute cooldown.
• Leggings (Ghost Dodge): Grants a chance to avoid all damage, especially from projectiles.
• Boots (Ghostly Weightless): Reduces fall damage and enables a backward leap when pressing V. With complete protection and enchantments, falls from up to 346 blocks can be survived.

Usage and Strategy

Due to the rarity of Cursium, crafting decisions should focus on creating gear that matches the player’s combat style. The Annihilator and Soul Render are excellent choices for melee combat, while the Cursed Bow is better suited for ranged engagements. The armor set is particularly effective in high-risk areas, thanks to its survivability enhancements.

For melee-focused players, investing in the Annihilator or Soul Render provides excellent control and close-quarters damage. Soul Render’s area-based halberd summoning excels at crowd control, while the Annihilator offers consistent burst damage and armor shredding when upgraded.

Players who prioritize mobility and ranged combat may find the Cursed Bow particularly advantageous, especially in open encounters. Its status effect and homing capabilities make it an excellent choice for targeting agile or airborne foes.

To obtain all the major Cursium items, players need to gather a substantial amount of material. Each weapon requires multiple ingots, and upgrading Netherite armor to a complete Cursium set necessitates four Ingots, one for each piece. A total of 10 Cursium Ingots is required to obtain everything.

In total, players should plan to farm Maledictus at least three to five times, depending on the variance in Ingot drops and the equipment they want. To farm efficiently, it’s recommended to use high-mobility loadouts and manage cooldowns effectively for resurrection cycles.
