Cursed Pyramid

Modern Remnant

Estimated reading: 2 minutes

The Modern Remnant is a distinctive passive pet that can be acquired after defeating the Ancient Remnant boss in the Cursed Pyramid. Unlike typical pets, this skeletal dinosaur-like companion comes with unique taming mechanics and revival abilities, as well as offering light combat support.

Obtaining

To unlock the Modern Remnant, players must first defeat the Ancient Remnant and collect the Remnant’s Skull, which is a guaranteed drop after the battle. Once players have the skull, they can summon the pet version of the boss at any time.

To activate the Modern Remnant, place the Remnant Skull in the world, which will summon the Modern Remnant pet. Then, feed it a Sniffer Egg to turn it into a companion/follower.

A Tamed Modern Remnant

Once fed, the creature transforms into its pet form, allowing players to right-click on it to switch the pet to follow, stay, or wander. This process can be repeated if the pet is ever defeated.

About

Behaviour-wise, the Modern Remnant can follow, wander, and sit, with the player being able to give commands. It will also ignore most hostile mobs, unless it’s attacked. Its behavior is more similar to that of Wolves.

In total, the Modern Remnant has 150 Health points and 5 Armor points. As it takes damage, the Modern Remnant can be healed for 5 Health by giving it either regular Bones or Koboleton Bones.

The Modern Remnant cannot hold or carry items like a Llama or a Backpack animal, but it can be stored in an Empty Bucket. This feature allows for safe transportation across dimensions or long distances without the risk of losing the entity.

Modern Remnant Bucket

Once the Modern Remnant is placed inside the Bucket, it can be returned to its active state by placing the bucket down. If the Modern Remnant dies, the Remnant’s Skull item will be dropped, and the taming process can be done again.
