Lich Tower

The Lich Tower is one of the first dungeons you’ll likely come across in Minecraft after installing the Bosses of Mass Destruction mod. It houses the Night Lich, a flying skeletal boss.

How to Find the Lich Tower

The Lich Tower will always spawn in a frozen biome, so there’s a chance you might come across it while exploring these locations. It’s quite tall, over a hundred blocks high, so it might be easy to spot with a high enough render distance.

However, the easiest way to find it is by using Soul Stars. These items can be dropped by undead mobs like Zombies and Skeletons and have a rare drop chance. They act like an Ender Pearl, and it will point to the nearest Lich Tower when released.

Players who have cheats enabled can also find the Lich Tower by inputting the following command: /locate bosses_of_mass_destruction:lich_tower or /locate structure bosses_of_mass_destruction:lich_tower on Minecraft 1.19+.

About the Lich Tower

The Lich Tower has multiple floors containing loot, useful blocks, and hostile mob spawners. At the lowest level is the basement, where Skeletons will spawn wearing Enchanted Chainmail armor. A few Furnaces and Crafting Tables can be found here.

The next level is the ground floor, which contains a Chest stuck in the Ice. This chest can be dug out and opened to obtain loot such as Gunpowder, Leather, and Redstone Dust. There is no staircase in the Lich Tower, so players must build their way between the different floors.

As you ascend to the next floor, you’ll find more Skeletons wearing Enchanted Chainmail. However, this floor also contains four Chiseled Stone Altars used to summon the Night Lich. Be careful, as holes appear in the ground, which can cause you to fall to the lower levels, taking significant damage.

More Chests containing loot can be found on the upper levels, with one also appearing at the very top of the structure. Though the most important floor is the one with the Chiseled Stone Altars.

The Night Lich

When players are ready, they can summon the Night Lich on the floor that contains the four Chiseled Stone Altars. A Soul Star will need to be placed into each of these Altars, so it might not be worth searching for this structure until you’ve obtained enough Soul Stars.

After placing the Soul Stars, it will instantly turn to night, and the Night Lich will be summoned. It can be found flying around the Lich Tower, and has 300 Health points in total.
