Void Worm

The Void Worm is a boss provided by Alex’s Mobs, that can be found in the End, and only after defeating the Ender Dragon. While it’s not a difficult boss to defeat mechanics-wise, you will need to be able to sustain continuous damage for some very satisfying rewards.

How to Summon the Void Worm

To summon the Void Worm, you need to meet a few conditions. Firstly, you need to be in the End Dimension and have beaten the Ender Dragon. When these conditions are met, throwing a Mysterious Worm into the Void (the empty area in the End) will summon the Void Worm.

To obtain a Mysterious Worm, place Crimson Mosquito Larvae inside a Capsid. The easiest way to obtain Crimson Mosquito Larvae is through crafting. It can also be obtained through trading, but you’re relying on luck, and it could take a long time to find the Elephant Trader.

Firstly, obtain a Maggot by killing Flies, as they can drop them on death. Then slay Crimson Mosquitos, found in the Crimson Forest Biome within the Nether to obtain Crimson Mosquito Proboscises. When a Maggot is combined with the Crimson Mosquito Proboscises in a Crafting Table, you’ll obtain a Crimson Mosquito Larva.

Next, you need to obtain a Capsid, which is a block. The Enderophage has a chance of dropping these when slain. These are ender-creatures and can be found in the End Midlands Biomes.

When you have obtained both the Crimson Mosquito Larvae and the Capsid, you can create the Mysterious Worm. Start by placing down the Capsid block, then place the Crimson Mosquito Larvae inside it. After a few seconds, the Larvae will be transformed into the Mysterious Worm, and can be picked up.

Take the Mysterious Worm into the End Dimension, and throw it into the Void. After a few seconds, you will receive the “A Soul for A Soul” achievement, and the Void Worm will rise from the Void.

How to Beat the Void Worm

The Void Worm is hostile and will attack the player on sight. In total, it has 160 health, and a boss bar will keep track of its health. The most important thing to know about the Void Worm is that it can split in two, which will happen if players attack the body too much vs the head.

As the Void Worm will fly around, the best weapon to use here is a ranged one. A great option is an Enchanted Bow and aim for the head as much as possible. Most of the attacks that the Void Worm will do involve firing homing crystals at you, which are pretty hard to avoid. The best course of action is to try and tank these while focusing on dealing damage.

If the Void Worm gets close to the player, then it will do a bite attack instead. While this could deal quite a bit of damage, it also gives you an opportunity to pull out a melee weapon and deal damage to the Void Worms head.

The final ability to be aware of is the portal which the Void Worm will open. Luckily, this doesn’t deal any damage, and doesn’t need to be thought about, just look for the other portal opening where the Void Worm will exit.

Void Worm Loot

Upon beating the Void Worm, the drops will be in the air, resting within Ender Residue. They will dissipate after a few seconds as they slowly break apart. The first item it drops is Void Worm Mandibles. These are used to craft the Dimensional Carvers and Void Worm Beaks.

The other item is the Void Worm Eye. It’s combined with 2 Void Worm Mandibles and 2 Netherite Ingots to create the Dimensional Carver. This tool is extremely powerful, allowing you to mine air and open portals which can lead back to your spawn point or even travel one million blocks in the given direction.
