Venus

Once you’ve visited Mars and obtained Ostrum, you can craft a Tier 3 Rocket. This opens up the ability to explore two new planets: Mercury and Venus. Both of these Planets are hot and require additional measures to survive.

About Venus

Venus is an extremely hot planet, sitting at 464 degrees celsius. Due to these extreme temperatures, you’ll need to craft the Netherite Space Suit at least, which will prevent you from burning up while exploring.

It’s also a very dry planet, with mostly deserts made from Venus Sand and large deltas crafted from Infernal Spire blocks. Large structures, which the Pygro owns, often spawn on the surface, and these consist of Towers and Villages.

Also, on the surface of Venus are plenty of Lava Pools and Magma Blocks, which you need to be careful of. Although these aren’t a threat, provided you’re wearing the Netherite Space Suit.

Venus Priorities

While exploring Venus, your main priority will be to find and mine Calorite, which can be found underground inside of Venus Stone. When smelted, these turn into Calorite Ingots, and can be pressed, turning them into Calorite Plates.

Calorite is used in the recipe for the Jet Suit, which is the highest tier of Space Suit and comes with built-in flight, which can be used by holding down SPACE. You’ll also need Calorite to craft the Tier 4 Rocket, the highest tier of Rocket currently available, and will allow you to leave the Solar System, heading to Proxima Centauri.

Other materials can be collected underground on Venus, including Coal, Gold, and Diamonds. It’s easy to get lost in these caverns, and the terrain generation of them is quite similar to the Overworld.

Pygro Tower

One of the first structures you might encounter when exploring Venus is the Pygro Tower. These are inhabited by the Pygro, who are a lot like Piglins. They won’t attack the player unless provoked, and if you attack one, they will all come to battle.

The Moglers can also be found on the tower. They are hostile and will attack on sight. The Pygro Tower has a few chests, which can be looted to obtain Diamonds, Iron Ingots, Emeralds, Cobwebs, and more.

Pygro Village

Another structure is the Pygro Village, which is spread over multiple floors. These, too, are inhabited by the Pygro and should be safe to explore, provided you don’t hit them. Like Piglins, Pygros can be traded with using Gold Ingots, and will provide similar trades like in the Nether.

There are a few other blocks within Pygro Villages that are useful, like light sources, Beds, Furnaces, and Empty Barrels. Chests can be found in most of the structures, too, containing loot. As the top of the Pygro Village is a glass dome, an Oxygen Distributor could be placed up here, turning it into a base.
