How do I find a trial chamber?

How deep are trial chambers?
They generate underground, usually between Y -40 and Y -20, so dig down at the coordinates or look for their copper and tuff walls breaking into caves.
Which versions have trial chambers?
Java Edition 1.21 and newer, including the 26.x releases. They do not exist in 1.20 worlds, so pick Java 1.21 above the map.
