The
Storage Connector is a cheap wiring block that keeps a Sophisticated Storage network in one piece. A Storage Controller only reaches storage blocks that form an unbroken chain, so any gap in that chain cuts off everything beyond it. The connector fills those gaps and lets the network flow straight through.
This block holds no items of its own. Its only job is connection, which frees you from cramming
Barrels and
Chests edge to edge just to keep them linked.
You can craft it in every wood type and even repaint it to match your walls. Tuck a connector inside floors, doorways, and decorative dividers, and your storage network stays hidden while it keeps working.
Obtaining
You craft the
Storage Connector at a
Crafting Table from Planks and Sticks, and each craft makes four. Place Sticks in the four corners and the center, then fill the four edges with matching Planks. It is one of the cheapest blocks in the whole mod, so make plenty at once.
Any plank type works, from Oak and Spruce to Crimson, Warped, and Bamboo. The wood you choose is purely cosmetic and does not change how the connector behaves. Pick whichever variant blends best with the room you are building.
Usage
Every Sophisticated Storage network is built around a single
Storage Controller. The controller links to storage blocks that touch it, and the connection spreads from block to block as long as they stay adjacent. When two storages are not touching, the chain breaks, and the connector is what carries it across the gap.
Bridging Gaps and Corners
Place a
Storage Connector in any empty space where your chain of storage would otherwise break. A single block can span a doorway, wrap around a corner, or cross a walkway between two rows of
Barrels. The storages on the far side rejoin the network the moment the connector links them.

You can chain connectors in a line to route the network through walls, up columns, or across a room. Only the connectors and storage blocks need to line up, so you can shape the layout around your build instead of around a solid cube of Chests.
Merging Storage Clusters
Run a line of connectors from one group of storage to another to fold both into the same controller. This keeps separate walls or shelves of
Barrels that all feed one access point. Everything still has to sit within the controller’s range, so keep the clusters reasonably close.
For storage that is too far away or fully separated, use a
Storage Link instead, which ties a whole second network to the controller with the Storage Tool. The
Storage Input,
Storage Output, and
Storage I/O blocks move items in and out but do not bridge gaps. The connector is the tool for one continuous, physically linked base.
Connector vs Storage Link
Both blocks extend how far a controller can reach, but they do it in opposite ways. The connector needs an unbroken chain of blocks, while the
Storage Link jumps to a separate network with no physical path. Use this table to pick the right one for the job.

Hiding the Wiring
The connector shows a small marking so you can spot it, but you rarely want that on display. There are three easy ways to make it blend into a finished build.
Mechanics
The
Storage Controller only holds a network together within its range, which is 15 blocks by default. Every connector and storage block has to fall inside that range, measured from the controller itself. Connectors let you use that whole reach in any shape, but they do not push the limit any further.
Breaking a connector removes it from the network cleanly, and anything linked only through it drops off until you replace it. Keep this in mind when mining near your wiring, since pulling one block can quietly disconnect a whole wing of storage. A server or modpack can raise or lower the range in the config, anywhere from 4 to 64 blocks.
The Storage Connector never holds items itself. If part of your storage disappears from the controller, look for a broken chain or a block sitting just outside the controller’s range, then drop in a connector to close the gap.
FAQ
No. The connector holds nothing at all and exists only to keep the network connected. Use Barrels, Chests, and Shulker Boxes for actual storage.
Only enough to bridge the gaps in your layout, which is often just a handful. Each craft makes four and costs a few Planks and Sticks, so keeping a stack on hand is easy.
A connector bridges gaps inside one continuous network by physically touching the chain. A Storage Link instead ties a whole separate network to the controller, and you set it up with the Storage Tool rather than a line of blocks.
No, the wood type is cosmetic only. Every variant connects the network exactly the same way, so pick the one that matches your build.
A gap most likely opened in the chain, or a block slipped outside the controller’s range of 15 blocks. Add a connector to close the gap, or move the far storage closer to the controller.
