Piglin Proliferation expands the Nether's Piglin society with two new mob variants, a powerful shield weapon, a navigation tool, and decorative campfire blocks. Each addition deepens the Nether's ecosystem and gives players new ways to barter, fight, and explore.
Piglin Alchemist
Piglin Alchemist
The Piglin Alchemist is a new Piglin variant that spawns naturally inside Bastion Remnants with a 28% spawn weight. It carries a Bow and a belt inventory of up to six Potion slots. Like all Piglins, it is passive toward players wearing Gold Armor and converts to a Zombified Piglin when in the Overworld.

When provoked, the Alchemist throws Splash Potions at enemies and fires Tipped Arrows if it has any in its belt. It prioritizes Healing Arrows when its target is already affected by negative status effects, making it particularly dangerous in group fights. When healed by a Fire Ring or potion effect, the Alchemist temporarily ignores fire damage pathing.
When a Piglin Alchemist dies, each potion in its belt only has a 20% chance of dropping. The other 80% are destroyed on death, so bartering is a much more reliable way to obtain its unique trades.
Alchemist Bartering
Throw Gold Ingots at the Piglin Alchemist to barter. Its loot table includes potion-making materials and utility arrows not found in standard Piglin trades.
Piglin Traveler
Piglin Traveler
The Piglin Traveler is a wandering Piglin that spawns across all main Nether biomes. It uses a special timer-based spawner rather than standard spawning rules, with a 25% chance to attempt a spawn near any online player every 10 minutes. Travelers also generate naturally inside Traveler Camps.

When provoked, the Traveler fights back with its Sword or Crossbow. It has a kick ability with a cooldown and can sit down when idle. Like the Alchemist, it converts to a Zombified Piglin in the Overworld and drops a Piglin Traveler Head as a rare kill reward.
Traveler Bartering
The Piglin Traveler accepts Gold Ingots and offers a unique trade pool centered on navigation and exploration items. The most sought-after trade is the Traveler's Compass, which points toward Nether structures.
Traveler's Compass
The Traveler's Compass is a navigation item obtainable exclusively through Piglin Traveler bartering. When received, it automatically locks onto the nearest Nether structure or biome that the Traveler knows about, displaying the destination name and coordinates in its tooltip.
The compass points toward structures such as Bastion Remnants, Nether Fortresses, Ruined Portals, and structures added by compatible mods including Crimson Tower, Warped Tower, Soul Prison, Catacomb, Citadel, and Piglin Manor. To copy a locked compass, place it alongside a blank Compass in a Crafting Table.
If a structure is too far to locate normally, barter repeatedly with Piglin Travelers until the compass locks onto your desired destination. Each Traveler tracks its own set of located objects to avoid giving duplicate targets.
Buckler
The Buckler is a special shield item that replaces standard blocking with an offensive charging ability. It is obtained from Bastion Remnant chests with a 25% chance or as a drop from Piglin Brutes. Gold Ingots repair it on an Anvil.
Hold right-click to wind up the Buckler. After the charge time elapses, you lunge forward at high speed. Colliding with a mob triggers a Shield Bash dealing 6 to 8 damage, applying strong knockback, and granting Critical Aura for your next melee hit. You cannot jump or enter water during the charge.
Buckler Enchantments
The Buckler has two unique enchantments that fundamentally change how the charge ability works. These can only be applied at an Enchanting Table or Anvil.

Fire Rings
Fire Rings are decorative campfire-style blocks that can also broadcast Potion effects in an area. They come in two fire variants (Regular Fire and Soul Fire) and five base materials, for a total of ten craftable blocks. They are also generated inside Traveler Camps across the Nether.
Right-click a lit Fire Ring with a Splash Potion to infuse it with that potion's effects. Anyone standing near the ring while it is active will receive the potion effect. Thrown Splash Potions from the Piglin Alchemist can also land on a Fire Ring to infuse it. Use a Shovel to extinguish the flame.
All Fire Ring recipes follow the same pattern: one Coal or Charcoal in the top-center slot, and three blocks of the base material along the bottom row. Substitute Cobblestone for Stone, Netherrack, Cobbled Deepslate, Blackstone, or End Stone to craft the corresponding variant.

Traveler Camps
Traveler Camps are small structures that generate throughout the Nether. They feature Fire Rings as their centerpiece and serve as natural habitat for Piglin Travelers. Camp Gatherings, a larger variant featuring log arrangements, generate specifically in Crimson Forests.

These camps are the most reliable place to find Piglin Travelers in early exploration, since the timer-based wandering spawn may take some time to trigger. The camps generate in all Nether biomes, with the gathering variant restricted to the Crimson Forest.
Mob Heads
Piglin Proliferation adds four decorative mob heads that can drop when the corresponding mob is killed by a charged Creeper or through other valid kill sources. The heads can be placed on the ground or mounted on walls as Piglin Alchemist Head, Piglin Traveler Head, Piglin Brute Head, and Zombified Piglin Head.
Zombified Piglin Variants
This mod also adds visual variety to existing Zombified Piglins. When a Zombified Piglin spawns, it has a chance to wear clothing matching different Piglin types. The default regular clothing applies 90% of the time, while Alchemist clothing applies 10%, Traveler clothing 10%, and Brute clothing 1.5% of the time.
Zombified Piglins with Alchemist clothing can spawn with potion items and those with Brute clothing may carry a Buckler. This clothing system is purely cosmetic by default but can be adjusted in the configuration file.
Frequently Asked Questions
Throw Gold Ingots on the ground near the Piglin Alchemist while wearing Gold Armor. It will pick up the ingot and return a random item from its barter pool. Do not attack it before bartering, as it will become hostile and stop trading.
The Piglin Alchemist spawns naturally inside Bastion Remnants with a 28% spawn weight, making it about as common as a regular Piglin inside a Bastion. It does not spawn in open Nether biomes. You can also spawn it manually using the Piglin Alchemist Spawn Egg.
Hold right-click with the Buckler equipped to begin charging. After the charge delay (15 ticks by default), you will lunge forward automatically. Aim at an enemy to trigger a Shield Bash on collision. The Buckler has a 240-tick cooldown after use.
Barter Gold Ingots with a Piglin Traveler. The Traveler's Compass is the highest-priority item in its barter pool and will be given as long as there is a nearby structure or biome for the compass to target. Travel to different areas of the Nether if the Traveler cannot locate a target.
Yes. Right-click a lit Fire Ring with any Splash Potion to infuse it. The ring will emit the potion's effects to nearby entities while it remains lit. The advancement "Aromatherapy" is unlocked by performing this action for the first time.
