The Enderitium Sword is the weapon of the Legendary Monsters Enderitium tier, which sits between Diamond and Netherite. You won’t run into any of it until you’re in the End, as the ore is scattered through
End Stone out there and the
Smithing Template that turns a
Diamond Sword into this one only generates inside Space Station Chests.
Once it’s in your hand it deals 7.5 damage at the normal sword speed of 1.6, which puts it half a point above a Diamond Sword and half a point below a
Netherite Sword. Durability is where it’s ahead of both at 2100, and it takes enchantments as well as Netherite does. It’s also not a dead end, as the sword upgrades onwards into a Netherite Sword later.
Obtaining
There’s no crafting recipe for the sword, it’s a
Smithing Table transform in the same way Netherite is. You’ll need three things in the table at once: the Enderitium Upgrade Smithing Template, a
Diamond Sword in the base slot, and a single
Enderitium Ingot. The Diamond Sword is allowed to be enchanted already and everything on it carries through, so pick your best one before you spend the Ingot.
Get to the End
Any End biome works
Enderitium is an End material and none of it generates anywhere else, so the
Ender Dragon portal is the first step. The central island is enough to start mining, though the Space Station you’ll need later only sits out on the outer islands.
Mine Enderitium Ore
Diamond Pickaxe or better
Each block gives 1 to 5
Enderitium Gems, and 9 Gems press into 1 Enderitium Ingot at a
Crafting Table. That single Ingot is the whole material cost of the sword, so one decent vein will cover it.
Find a Space Station
The Smithing Template only drops here
The template is the part that actually gates the sword, and Space Station Chests are the only source of it in the mod. An
Eye Of Annihilation will throw itself toward the nearest one, which saves a lot of flying about.
Smith the Sword
Template, Diamond Sword, 1 Enderitium Ingot
Drop all three into a Smithing Table and the Enderitium Sword comes out the far side. The template is used up in the process the same way vanilla templates are, which is why the duplication recipe further down matters if you want a full set.
If you haven’t got an Enderitium Ingot yet, the section below covers where the Gems come from. The mobs on the Space Station drop plenty of them too, so the trip for the template usually covers the Ingot as well.
Finding Enderitium Gems
Enderitium Ore replaces
End Stone in every End biome, and veins stay in place even when they’re open to the air. You’ll see it exposed on the sides and undersides of the islands as often as buried, so there’s little reason to strip-mine. You do need a
Diamond Pickaxe or better, otherwise the block breaks and gives you nothing.
Fortune applies the standard ore bonus on top of the 1 to 5 Gems, so a Fortune III Pickaxe is well worth bringing out. Silk Touch hands you the ore block itself instead. The Flameborn mobs and the Annihilation Pursuer drop Gems as well, on every kill rather than as a roll. The Enderitium page has the full breakdown.
| Source | Gems | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Enderitium Ore | 1-5 | Every block, Fortune applies |
| Annihilation Pursuer | 2-10 | Also drops an Eye Crystal |
| Flameborn Guard | 1-7 | — |
| Flame Drifter | 1-7 | Also drops 5-14 Bottles Of Annihilation |
| Flameborn Warrior | 1-2 | — |
| Space Station Chests | 1-6 | Luxury Chests can hold the ore block too |
Between the ore and the station mobs, the Gems come easily enough, and a single trip usually covers far more than one sword needs. It’s the template that decides when the sword actually gets made.
The Enderitium Upgrade Smithing Template
The template turns up at roughly 1 in 15 in the basic Space Station Chests and 1 in 7 in the luxury ones, so you might be opening a fair few before one appears. In your inventory it’s named just “
Smithing Template“, the same as the Annihilator one, so check the tooltip: this one reads Enderitium Upgrade and applies to Diamond Equipment.
An Eye Of Annihilation is made from 4 Enderitium Gems around an
Eye of Ender and thrown exactly like one, searching out to about 100 chunks for the nearest station. It usually drops back to be picked up, but about 1 throw in 5 shatters it, so craft a couple.
Space Stations generate in End Highlands, End Midlands and Small End Islands, spaced roughly 110 chunks apart, and they’re kept clear of End Cities so the two won’t overlap. With cheats on, the locate command below skips the search entirely.
Once you’ve got one template you’ll never need to find another. Seven Diamonds and a single
Enderstone block laid around it in a Crafting Table gives you two back, which is the same duplication trick the vanilla Netherite template uses. Enderstone is easy enough to come by, as it generates through the End alongside the ore.
Duplicate before you upgrade, not after. That way the first template you find is the last one you’ll ever need to look for, and every later tool costs Diamonds instead of another Space Station.
Usage
In a fight the Enderitium Sword behaves like any other sword, swinging at 1.6 and dealing 7.5 damage on a fully charged hit. Against a
Diamond Sword that’s 0.5 extra per swing, which on its own isn’t going to change how anything goes. What you’re really buying is the durability and the enchantability, and both of those are big jumps rather than small ones.
Diamond Sword
Enderitium Sword
Netherite Sword
Enchantability decides how good an offer you get at an
Enchanting Table for a given level. At 15 against the Diamond Sword’s 10 you’ll see better enchantments at level 30, and that’s the real reason to make one before you’ve gone looking for
Ancient Debris. Its 2100 durability also beats Netherite’s 2031.

Repairs are done on an
Anvil with
Enderitium Ingots, and each of those is 9 Gems you could have spent elsewhere. Two damaged Enderitium Swords will also combine on an Anvil in the usual way if you’d rather not spend the material.
Unlike Netherite gear, an Enderitium Sword burns up if you drop it in Lava or leave it sitting in fire. Treat it the way you’d treat a Diamond Sword and don’t assume it’ll survive a bad fall in the Nether.
So it’s a sword for the Overworld and the End, and it’s safest kept out of the Nether altogether. Leave it in a
Chest before a Nether trip, as a death over Lava takes it with you.
Enchantments
Every normal sword enchantment works on it, as there’s nothing on the item that blocks any of them. Mending is the one worth going out of your way for, since an
Anvil repair costs
Enderitium Ingots and those are 9 Gems apiece.
Fire Aspect is the one to skip. The Flameborn Guard, the Flameborn Warrior, the Flame Drifter and the Annihilation Pursuer are all immune to fire, so the burn does nothing to anything you’d be fighting in a Space Station.
If you’re using an
Enchanting Table rather than Books, upgrade the sword first and enchant it afterward. A
Diamond Sword rolls off an enchantability of 10 and the Enderitium Sword rolls off 15, so doing it in that order gets you better offers for the same levels. With Books it makes no difference at all, as the enchantments come across the upgrade untouched either way.
Upgrades & Uses
The Enderitium Sword isn’t the end of the line, it feeds straight into a
Netherite Sword. Put it back in a
Smithing Table with a vanilla Netherite Upgrade Smithing Template and a
Netherite Ingot, and the Netherite Sword comes out with everything you’d enchanted onto it still attached. Every Enderitium tool has the same second step, so nothing you make here is wasted later on.
That does mean the
Enderitium Ingot you spend on a sword has other places it could have gone. Some of the things below are much harder to replace than a weapon is, so spend with them in mind.
- The Tesseract takes 2 Enderitium Ingots alongside Portal Shards and a Bottle Of Annihilation, and it’s a weapon in its own right.
- The Annihilator’s Upgrade Smithing Template wants 4 Ingots, which is the route to Annihilator’s Armor, and that armor is then repaired with Enderitium Ingots as well.
- An Ender Anchor is 4 Ingots too, so it and the template are the two big spends.
- The Atom Splitter only needs 1 Ingot, the same as a sword, but it also wants an End Rod, 2 Portal Shards and 2 Bottles Of Annihilation on top.
- Eyes Of Annihilation are 4 Enderitium Gems each, so they come out of the same pile of Gems you’d be pressing into Ingots, and you’ll want several of them.
- A Buckler Of Annihilation costs 6 Gems around an Eye Crystal, which is the drop you get from an Annihilation Pursuer.
Nine Gems to an Ingot means a sword is worth a little over two Eyes Of Annihilation, and those Eyes are how you find the next Space Station. If you’re still hunting for stations it’s usually better to keep the Gems loose for a while and press them into Ingots once you’ve got a template in hand.
Tips
Upgrade your best enchanted sword rather than a fresh one, since everything on the
Diamond Sword comes through the upgrade. Don’t feed a blank one into the
Smithing Table when you’ve got an enchanted one sitting in a
Chest. The name, the enchantments and any wear all carry across.
Take a Fortune III Pickaxe on any trip out to the End islands, as
Enderitium Ore takes the standard ore bonus and a short run can leave you with far more Gems than the one Ingot a sword actually needs. Anything spare goes into Eyes Of Annihilation, which is what you’ll be throwing to find the next Space Station anyway.
Bring an
Elytra as well, since the outer islands are spread out enough that you’d otherwise be bridging between them. It’s a lot less time lost between one
Eye Of Annihilation throw and the next, and it means you’re not stranded if a throw sends you somewhere awkward.
Skip this sword if you’re already holding a
Netherite Sword, as the 7.5 damage is a step down. The tools are a different matter though, since an
Enderitium Pickaxe mines at 9.0 with 2100 durability and you might get there long before you’ve found enough
Ancient Debris.
FAQ
It depends which number you care about, as neither one is a clean upgrade over the other. Netherite wins on damage at 8 against 7.5 and it survives Lava, whereas Enderitium has 2100 durability against Netherite’s 2031 and matches its enchantability of 15. An Enderitium Sword upgrades into a
Netherite Sword anyway with a Netherite Upgrade Smithing Template, so most players will end up holding the Netherite one eventually.
Space Station Chests are the only place it generates, at roughly 1 in 15 for the basic
Chests and 1 in 7 for the luxury ones. It shows up in your inventory named just “
Smithing Template“, so read the tooltip, which says Enderitium Upgrade. One is all you’ll ever need, since 7 Diamonds and an
Enderstone block around it will duplicate it.
Everything on the base sword comes across, so enchantments, a custom name and any damage it’s already taken all move to the Enderitium Sword. The same holds on the step after it, as an enchanted Enderitium Sword taken up to Netherite keeps the lot. The only thing to think about is the
Enchanting Table, which rolls off the item’s own enchantability, so upgrade first and enchant second.
A
Diamond Pickaxe or better, otherwise the block breaks and drops nothing at all. It replaces
End Stone anywhere from Y -64 up to Y 80 in every End biome, which means you’ll often spot it on the surface of the islands without having to dig. Fortune works on it as normal, and Silk Touch will give you the ore block instead of the 1 to 5 Gems.
