The Archevoker Armor Set is Iron’s Spells ‘n Spellbooks’ dedicated Evocation school armor. Wearing the full set gives you +500 Max Mana, +40% Evocation Spell Power, and +20% Spell Power across all schools, making it the strongest available armor for players who specialize in Evocation spells.
The
Archevoker Coat also carries a built-in Spell Slot, letting you bind a spell directly to the piece so it stays at your fingertips at all times.
Obtaining
The Archevoker Armor Set is crafted through a three-step chain, starting from base materials and working up through Wizard Armor to the final school-specific pieces.
Crafting Chain
Crafting the Archevoker Armor Set requires three steps. Each step builds on the last, so gather your materials in order.
Craft Arcane Cloth
Surround any Wool with 8 Arcane Essence in a Crafting Table. Arcane Essence drops from all spellcasting mobs, including the Archevoker itself.
Craft Wizard Armor
Shape Arcane Cloth into standard armor patterns at a Crafting Table. Any Wizard Armor piece works as the base for upgrade in the next step.
Upgrade to Archevoker Armor
Combine any Wizard Armor piece with an Evocation Rune and Arcane Essence. You can do this in a Crafting Table (shapeless) or at a Smithing Table using the Evocation Rune as the upgrade template.
Evocation Runes drop from the Archevoker with a 50% chance per player kill. A single run often yields enough runes for the full set, plus
Arcane Essence for the cloth. Evoker Towers are common enough that you can clear multiple in one session if runes run short, and the barrels throughout the tower frequently contain high-tier inks and other valuable materials.
Usage
Every piece of the Archevoker Armor Set contributes the same three bonuses, with the Archevoker Coat standing out as the only slot that holds an imbued spell. All four pieces can be further enhanced with Upgrade Orbs at the
Arcane Anvil.
Bonuses Per Piece
Every piece of the Archevoker Armor Set contributes the same three bonuses: +125 Max Mana, +10% Evocation Spell Power, and +5% Spell Power for all schools. These bonuses stack additively across all four pieces, so wearing the complete set reaches +500 Max Mana, +40% Evocation Spell Power, and +20% Spell Power. You do not need to wear all four pieces, as each one you equip immediately adds its share.

Archevoker Coat Spell Slot
The Archevoker Coat comes with a built-in Spell Slot that can hold one spell. You fill it by placing the Coat and a Scroll side-by-side in an Arcane Anvil, which copies the scroll’s spell into the armor. The spell then appears on your Spell Wheel whenever you have the Coat equipped, ready to cast without needing a Spell Book in hand.
Because the Coat must be worn to cast the embedded spell, the slot is best used for utility or self-buff spells you want available during a fight. Evocation spells like Eldritch Blast or Summon
Vex are strong choices since the set already amplifies their damage. You can replace the spell at any time by inserting a new Scroll into the Arcane Anvil with the Coat, which overwrites the previous spell.
Upgrading at the Arcane Anvil
Every piece of the Archevoker Armor Set can be upgraded at the Arcane Anvil using Upgrade Orbs, with up to 3 per piece. The
Evocation Upgrade Orb adds +5% Evocation Spell Power per upgrade, and the
Mana Upgrade Orb adds +50 Max Mana per upgrade. Mix and match orb types on a single piece to balance between raw damage and mana pool.
With 3 Evocation Upgrade Orbs on all four pieces, the set gains an additional +60% Evocation Spell Power, bringing the total to +100% combined with the base +40%. You can reclaim spent orbs by using a
Shriving Stone at the Arcane Anvil, which removes all upgrades and refunds the orbs.
Tips
Farm the Archevoker before crafting. The mob drops both Evocation Runes (50% per kill) and Arcane Essence (0-8 per kill, boosted by Looting), which are all the materials needed beyond basic Wool. A few kills typically provide enough for the complete set and the
Arcane Cloth needed for the base Wizard Armor.
Come prepared for a spellcasting fight when hunting the Archevoker. The mob actively casts spells during the encounter, so experienced players recommend bringing a healing spell or equipping some spell resistance before entering the tower. Clearing the fight quickly at range reduces the window for the Archevoker to land a dangerous cast.
Loot the entire Evoker Tower during your farming run, not just the Archevoker. The barrels and crates throughout the structure regularly contain high-tier inks, arcane essence, and other valuable materials. The tower rewards are substantial enough that clearing it properly is more efficient than rushing straight to the Archevoker and leaving.
Even if you do not specialize in Evocation, the +20% All Spell Power from the full set still benefits any magic build. The set provides a solid armor rating of 20 with no toughness penalty, and the Coat’s Spell Slot adds genuine utility regardless of your chosen school. Mixed-school casters often equip the Coat alone for its Spell Slot and combine it with armor from other school sets for the remaining pieces.
Prioritize Evocation Upgrade Orbs over Mana Upgrade Orbs unless your mana runs out before fights end. The base +500 Max Mana from a full set is already generous, and increasing Evocation Spell Power has a more direct impact on kill speed. Save the Mana Upgrade Orb for builds that heavily rely on repeated high-cost spells in long encounters.
The armor can be repaired with Arcane Cloth at an
Anvil. Since Arcane Cloth is crafted from Arcane Essence and Wool, both of which are easy to obtain in bulk, keeping the set in good condition requires very little effort compared to more exotic armor materials.
FAQ
No. Each piece grants its bonuses independently. Wearing just the
Archevoker Hat gives +125 Max Mana, +10% Evocation Spell Power, and +5% Spell Power. The full set values are simply all four pieces combined, so you benefit proportionally from however many pieces you choose to wear.
Evocation Runes drop from the Archevoker mob with a 50% chance when killed by a player. You need one Evocation Rune per armor piece, so plan on hunting a few Archevokers. Evocation Runes are also a component in the Evocation Upgrade Orb recipe, so farming extra is worthwhile if you plan to upgrade the armor.
Place the Archevoker Coat and a Scroll in the Arcane Anvil. This copies the scroll’s spell into the coat. The spell then appears on your Spell Wheel as long as you are wearing the Coat, and you must be wearing it to cast the embedded spell. You can overwrite the spell at any time by inserting a different Scroll at the Arcane Anvil.
Yes. While the +10% Evocation Spell Power per piece is wasted on non-Evocation builds, the set still provides +5% All Spell Power per piece and +125 Max Mana per piece. The Archevoker Coat’s Spell Slot is also useful regardless of school. Mixed builds often wear just the Coat for its Spell Slot and swap the remaining pieces for armor from another school set.
Each piece supports up to 3 Upgrade Orbs. You can mix different orb types on the same piece, so applying 2 Evocation Upgrade Orbs and 1 Mana Upgrade Orb to the Coat is valid. Use a Shriving Stone at the Arcane Anvil to remove all upgrades from a piece and recover the orbs if you want to change your choices.
All Archevoker Armor pieces are repaired with Arcane Cloth at an Anvil. Arcane Cloth is crafted from 8 Arcane Essence surrounding a Wool block, making it easy to produce in bulk from the Arcane Essence that drops from spellcasting mobs.
