Silver Sword

Evil Hunter [Horror] is a Minecraft horror mod by DregIr that turns a standard survival world into a structured, narrative-driven horror experience. The mod activates through a Ritual Book given at world start, which directs you to a nearby dark altar and begins a seven-phase escalation of psychological horror events. From flickering screens and phantom footsteps to an unkillable entity that breaks through doors and silently corrupts your inventory, each phase intensifies until you are ready to force the final confrontation. Progression centers on mining Silver Ore to craft the Ritual Sword and Cross, surviving long enough to collect a Hunter's Soul, then triggering a four-phase boss fight that requires specific tools and tactics at each stage. Completing it rewards the True Silver Sword, a powerful weapon enchanted with Fire Aspect IV and Sharpness II that cannot be obtained any other way. The mod is designed for solo play, includes a built-in mature content warning, and delivers a complete horror arc with a defined beginning, escalation, and ending.

The Silver Sword is your first real weapon upgrade in Evil Hunter, a fireproof blade that slots neatly between Iron and Diamond. You craft it from Silver you mine yourself, so it is available long before you face the mod’s bigger threats. Every hit lands a little harder than an Iron Sword, and unlike most weapons it will never burn up in lava.

Silver is the signature material of this horror mod, and the sword is the cheapest way to start using it. The mod also has a much stronger holy weapon, the True Silver Sword, but you earn that one as a reward from the Ritual Boss Fight rather than crafting it.

Obtaining

You craft the Silver Sword exactly like a vanilla sword: two Silver Ingots stacked over a single Stick. The only new material is Silver, which you gather by mining and smelting.

1

Mine Silver Ore

Silver Ore Generates Underground

Silver Ore generates in every biome between roughly Y -48 and Y 27, so the Deepslate layer is the best place to dig for it. It is fairly common down there, and each block drops one piece of Raw Silver. You need at least an Iron Pickaxe to mine it, or the ore breaks with no drop.

2

Smelt Into Silver Ingots

Drop your Raw Silver into a Furnace to produce Silver Ingots. You can also smelt the ore block directly if you would rather skip the raw stage. Each ingot takes about twice as long to cook as iron, so fire up a few furnaces if you plan to build a full Silver kit.

3

Craft the Sword

Place two Silver Ingots in a vertical column with a Stick directly beneath them. One sword costs two ingots, which is just two pieces of Raw Silver. That makes the Silver Sword cheap enough to keep a spare on hand.

Usage

In combat the Silver Sword deals 6.5 attack damage and swings at 1.6 attacks per second, the same speed as an Iron or Diamond Sword. That places its damage right between the two, so you trade up from Iron without paying for Diamonds. Reach and the sweep attack against grouped enemies work just like any vanilla sword.

Its standout trait is fireproofing. The sword survives lava and fire, both in your hand and as a dropped item, so a careless step into a lava pool will not destroy it. The entire Silver tool line shares this property, which is rare for gear you can build this early.

The Ritual Boss Only Takes Ritual Sword Damage

During the Ritual Boss Fight, the Hunter can only be hurt by a player holding the Ritual Sword. The Silver Sword, arrows, and thrown potions all do no damage to it, so do not count on the Silver Sword for that fight. Surviving the Ritual is what rewards you with the True Silver Sword.

Enchantments

The Silver Sword accepts every standard sword enchantment, and its enchantability of 14 matches Iron and beats Diamond’s 10. You tend to pull stronger enchantments from the table as a result. Its weak point is durability, so protective enchantments matter most here.

Recommended Enchantments

Sharpness V
Increases the melee damage of every hit
Unbreaking III
Makes the blade last far longer between repairs
Mending I
Repairs the sword using experience orbs
Fire Aspect II
Sets the targets you strike on fire
Looting III
Improves the loot mobs drop on death
Sweeping Edge III
Strengthens the sweep attack against crowds

Unbreaking and Mending are the priority pair. With only 750 uses the sword wears down faster than Diamond, and Mending lets you top it back up with experience instead of recrafting it. After that, Sharpness gives the biggest combat boost.

Silver Gear and the True Silver Sword

The Silver Sword is one piece of a full Silver kit. You can build Silver Armor and the rest of the Silver Tools from the same ingots. The Silver Tools share the sword’s fireproofing, but the Silver Armor does not.

Player wearing Silver Armor

For a true endgame weapon, look to the True Silver Sword. You earn it as a reward for surviving the Ritual Boss Fight rather than crafting it. It hits far harder, never breaks, and arrives already enchanted, described in game as a holy blade that purifies evil. See the True Silver Sword article for its full stats.

FAQ

How much damage does the Silver Sword deal?

It deals 6.5 attack damage at 1.6 attacks per second. That is half a point above an Iron Sword and half a point below a Diamond Sword, with the same swing speed as both.

Is the Silver Sword better than a Diamond Sword?

Not in raw power. A Diamond Sword hits slightly harder and lasts much longer, with 1561 durability against the Silver Sword’s 750. The Silver Sword wins on being fireproof and on higher enchantability, and it costs no Diamonds to make.

Where do I find Silver Ore?

Silver Ore spawns in every biome, deep underground between about Y -48 and Y 27. The deepslate layer is your best hunting ground. Bring an Iron Pickaxe or better, since a Stone Pickaxe will not drop anything.

Does the Silver Sword burn in lava?

No. The Silver Sword is fireproof, so it survives lava and fire whether you are holding it or it is lying on the ground as a dropped item. Every Silver tool and weapon shares this trait, though Silver Armor does not.

What is the difference between the Silver Sword and the True Silver Sword?

The Silver Sword is the craftable mid-game blade. The True Silver Sword is the upgraded holy version you earn from the Ritual Boss Fight, not the Crafting Table. It deals far more damage, never breaks, and comes pre-enchanted.

What are the best enchantments for the Silver Sword?

Prioritize Unbreaking and Mending to offset the low durability, then add Sharpness for raw damage. Fire Aspect, Looting, and Sweeping Edge round out a strong build.
