The
Ritual Sword is a silver-forged blade you craft to arm yourself for the Ritual, the mid-game confrontation at the heart of Evil Hunter. It hits harder than the
Silver Sword and arrives permanently enchanted with
Smite IV, so you never spend levels to make it dangerous. When the Hunter finally appears during the Ritual, the game itself tells you to draw this weapon and finish the fight.
It sits one step below the
True Silver Sword in the mod’s holy arsenal. With 7.5 attack damage, more than a thousand uses, and full immunity to fire and lava, it makes a dependable main weapon for the whole mid-game stretch.
Obtaining
You craft the
Ritual Sword at a
Crafting Table, and the key ingredient is
Silver, the mod’s holy metal.
Silver Ore spawns underground and drops
Raw Silver when you mine it. Smelt either the Raw Silver or the ore block itself in a
Furnace to get Silver Ingots.
One sword needs two Silver Ingots, so gather a small stack before you start. The rest of the recipe uses common materials you likely already have. See the Silver Ingot page for the full mining and smelting chain.
Mine Silver Ore
Find and mine Silver Ore underground, the same way you would dig for Iron or Gold. Each block drops Raw Silver. Collect enough to cover at least two ingots per sword you plan to make.

Smelt Into Silver Ingots
Burn the Raw Silver in a Furnace to produce Silver Ingots. You can also smelt the Silver Ore block directly if you prefer to skip the Raw Silver step. Either route gives you the ingots the recipe wants.
Craft the Sword
Combine two Silver Ingots with a Gold Ingot, an Iron Ingot, Redstone, Lapis Lazuli, and a Stick in the shaped pattern below. The result is a single Ritual Sword, already carrying its built-in enchant the moment it lands in your inventory.
Usage
The
Ritual Sword swings at 7.5 attack damage with a 1.6 attack speed, matching the timing of a normal sword while hitting harder than the
Silver Sword. It strikes one target per swing rather than sweeping across a group, so it performs best in focused, one-on-one fights like the Ritual itself.

With 1,024 uses it lasts a long time, and because it is fire-resistant it will never burn away if you drop it in lava. Its standout feature is a permanent Smite IV enchant that the mod re-applies whenever the level drops to zero.

Ritual Sword
True Silver Sword
Smite IV adds 10 bonus damage against Undead mobs, which turns the sword into a wrecking tool against
Zombies,
Skeletons, and other vanilla Undead you meet at night. That free enchant is the main reason to favor it over the plain Silver Sword.
The mod’s own enemies, including the Hunter, Shadow Hunter, and Saver, are not classed as Undead, so Smite IV adds no extra damage against them. In the Ritual you are relying on the sword’s raw 7.5 damage, so bring strong armor and healing rather than counting on the enchant.
In the Ritual Boss Fight
The
Ritual Sword is the weapon you must wield during the Ritual. When the Hunter materializes, an on-screen prompt reads “Kill it. Use the Ritual Sword.” The Hunter takes damage only from a player holding the Ritual Sword, so hitting him with anything else does nothing and the game flashes “Use the Ritual Sword!” until you switch back.

Keep it on your hotbar alongside the True Cross you receive during the Ritual. The Hunter raises a shield at first, so swap to the sword once that shield is down and he is open to attack. Shadows swarm the altar during the fight.
Right-click the
True Cross on them to banish them with a bolt of lightning, and clearing the shadows guarding the Hunter drops his shield. With the shield down, lean on the Ritual Sword for steady damage until he falls.
Finishing the Ritual consumes your Ritual Sword and True Cross and rewards you with the
True Silver Sword. Full details of the encounter live on the Ritual Boss Fight page.
Enchantments
The Ritual Sword always carries Smite IV with no work from you. It also has an unusually high Enchantability of 30, which makes it easy to pull strong results from an Enchanting Table.
For longevity,
Unbreaking and
Mending are worth adding so the blade effectively lasts forever. Its 1,024 uses and fire immunity already make it durable, so these enchants are a comfort upgrade rather than a requirement.
FAQ
Combine two Silver Ingots with one Gold Ingot, one Iron Ingot, one Redstone, one Lapis Lazuli, and one Stick at a Crafting Table. Silver Ingots come from smelting Raw Silver or Silver Ore in a Furnace.
Yes. The sword applies Smite IV to itself the moment it enters your inventory, and it re-applies the enchant if it is ever stripped away. You always carry a Smite IV blade without spending any experience.
It is the only weapon that can damage the Hunter during the Ritual, so you have to use it, and its 7.5 base damage carries the fight. The Hunter and the mod’s other enemies are not Undead, though, so the built-in Smite gives no bonus against them. Lean on armor, healing, and raw damage instead.
No. The sword is fire-resistant, so a dropped Ritual Sword survives lava and fire instead of being destroyed. You can recover it safely if you die in a dangerous spot.
The True Silver Sword is the clear upgrade, with 11 attack damage and a built-in Smite IV plus Fire Aspect II. The Ritual Sword is the mid-game blade you carry into the Ritual. You do not craft the True Silver Sword, you receive it for completing the Ritual, which consumes your Ritual Sword and True Cross.
Silver Ore spawns underground and drops Raw Silver when mined. Smelt the Raw Silver, or the ore block itself, in a Furnace to produce Silver Ingots. Two ingots go into each Ritual Sword.
