Dynamic Trees overhauls trees, causing them to look more realistic. Over time, they can slowly grow, and will evolve with different branches. When a tree is cut down, it will also fall entirely, with real-looking physics.

Tree Growth
From now on, trees in Minecraft will progressively grow over time. Starting as an Acorn rooted in the ground, you can watch them slowly mature into different sized trees. Planting a Sapling might not cause a Dynamic Tree to grow.

Instead, different items like Acorns, Spruce Cones, Jungle Pods, Acacia Seeds and Birch Catkins need to be planted instead. While they can be found naturally, different Saplings can be combined with a Bucket of Dirt to create these new items.
Trees also grow in more natural ways, with different sizes and shapes, especially when it comes to their branches. They’re even able to grow around obstacles. If a Seed falls from a tree, these have a chance of replanting themselves.
Other Tree Features
When chopping down a tree, they will have some realistic physics which causes them to fall down. Then, they’ll drop items like Logs and Seeds which can be replanted. Only the bottom block of a Dynamic Tree needs to be broken.

If a tree doesn’t have access to light, it can die. The branches will slowly wither away, reducing the overall size. Likewise, if there’s lots of rainfall, the growth of a tree can be increased. Branches can even be climbed like Ladders.
