Dungeons Mod

Dungeons Mod adds some new structures, bosses and items into Minecraft. A lot of these are really tough to defeat, with them having their own mechanics.

This is one of many of our Mod Wikis, here at Minecraft Guides. If you're interesting in finding out about more of Minecraft's Best Mods, then check out our dedicated section! We allow you to sort by Forge, Fabric, Minecraft Version and Genre!

The Castle

A large location included with Dungeons Mod is the Castle. It’s protected by Guards, who are also defending the King, a new Boss included with the mod.

The Castle
The Castle

Both of these are hostile to the player. It’s worth trying to take out all the Guards before attacking the King. During a fight, the King is able to use 4 different abilities.

The King
The King

These abilities will allow the King to do charge attacks, explode if it dies, throw Pickaxes at players and summon Bookshelves which launch books.

As a drop, the King will often give Books and an Enchanted Hoe to the player. However there’s also a chance to receive the Kings Crown, which can summon 2 Guards which will attack hostile mobs nearby.

The Lab

The next large location is the Lab, and it can be found underground. Entrances to the Lab can be found on the surface, but you might have more luck by looking for The Crawler boss bar.

Inside the Lab
Inside the Lab

Inside the Lab, you’ll find hostile mobs like the Slime Wolf and the Scientists. All of these are aggressive, and are going to attack instantly. The Lab is circular, with the Crawler boss being in the center, who can be seen through an observation window.

The Crawler is probably the hardest boss included with the mod. Before defeating it, remove any Redstone Blocks found around the Lab, especially the ones sitting on the Quartz Stairs. These are all connected to the Crawler, and each one provides it with 20 HP per second.

The Crawler

You’ll also need to be within melee range of the Crawler to damage it, otherwise it will regenerate. It’s recommended to have the best equipment possible, and even an active Beacon.

As a drop, you can receive the Crawler Armor set. When it’s equipped, every 3 stacks of Redstone Blocks in the players inventory will provide the +1 Regeneration Effect, up to a maximum of 3.

The Ship

At the bottom of the Ocean is The Ship. It’s a wreck, which has been sunk by the Kraken, which can be found nearby.

The Ship
The Ship

To fight the Kraken, you’ll want to start by taking out each tentacle, as they have their own hitboxes. If the Kraken has a tentacle, every 1 of 3 attacks will eject player to the air and apply hunger and nausea.

The Kraken
The Kraken

Each tentacle will also provide the Kraken with 1 point of Regeneration, so focus on these first. Once the Kraken is defeated, it drops tentacles which can be cooked and eaten. The Ship can also be searched for extra loot.

The House

Inside Minecrafts deserts, the House can be found, which looks like the structure below. While it looks very inconspicuous, the Deserted can be found below.

The House
The House

One thing to know about the Deserted is that it’s empowered by fire. Each time it receives fire damage, it gains extra resistances and heals itself for twice the amount of fire damage received.

The Deserted
The Deserted

Instead, attack the Deserted with water, which will drop its resistances instead. During a fight, the Deserted will launch fire attacks at the player.

After defeating the Deserted, it can drop Sand, as well as an enchanted Sword. You can also receive the Sand Bucket, which can be used to summon a mount.

The Mines

Another underground location is the Mines. Here, the Iron Slime can be found. It’s a boss which looks like a regular Slime jumping around, except it’s white in color.

Do not wear or use Iron equipment against this boss. Damage received will be increased by 700%. It also has a huge amount of knockback, so it’s worth trying to trap yourself in water.

To defeat the Iron Slime, quickly attack it with a Pickaxe, ideally made of Diamonds. Over time, it will get smaller. Don’t take breaks either, as it’s able to regenerate health over time.

How to Install

If you haven't already, make sure to install Forge for Minecraft. It's a simple process and takes just a few minutes. Once Forge is installed:
  1. Download the mod for your Minecraft Version. It will be a .JAR file.
  2. Take this file, and place it in the 'mods' folder of your Minecraft directory. If this folder doesn't exist, create it. The easiest way to access your Minecraft directory is opening the game, going to Resource Packs and pressing the 'Open Resource Pack Folder' button.
  3. Once it's inside the mods folder, run Minecraft with the Forge preset selected. The mod will be installed and can be played with in-game.
