Crazy Chocobos

Crazy Chocobos adds a type of mount from Final Fantasy, made by Square Enix. However, this mod is not affiliated with Square Enix.

In Final Fantasy, Chocobos are described as 'a breed of flightless birds, characterized by their yellow feathers, distinct odor, and unforgettable chirp. Domesticated for their gentle nature and quick feet, they are often used as ground transportation.'

This is one of many of our Mod Wikis, here at Minecraft Guides. If you're interested in finding out about more of Minecraft's Best Mods, then check out our dedicated section! We allow you to sort by Forge, Fabric, Minecraft Version and Genre!

Obtaining

There are two methods to get Chocobos, the first being that this mod can replace horses, mules, and donkeys in the world with Chocobos. To do so, go to Config/crazy-chocobos-common and change the Replace Horses option from false to true.

	"Replace Horses" = false

The Second and natural method to own a chocobo is where the player will have to find a Chocobo Nest in hot biomes on top of Dirt or Sand. Such biomes could be: Deserts, Savannas, Badlands, or Tropical Jungles. The Chocobo Nest Spawn rate is 1 in 32 chunks, so finding a Chocobo Nest may take some time. However, it is not that rare.

Chocobo Nests can be identified as yellow nests with 1-3 eggs inside. They spawn only on surfaces in hot biomes in the Overworld.

Each Chocobo Nest can contain 1 to 3 Chocobo Eggs, which the player would have to RMB while holding the Egg to hatch and spawn a Baby Chocobo.

Using Chocobos

The newly hatched Baby Chocobo will not be tameable nor rideable. After a while, they become fully grown and grow into 1 of 3 different types of Chocobos: Kennel, Rounsey, or Destriders. You can speed up the process by feeding them like a horse, feeding them horse food such as Apples, Hay Bales, or Wheat.

The 3 different types of Chocobo can come in many variations of various colors.

Chocobos have similar traits to horses and would be tamed in the same fashion by continually riding the Chocobo until the Chocobo doesn’t throw the player off anymore.

Once tamed, Saddles allow the player to control the chocobo and mount it.

They will grow into 1 of 3 types: Note they look very similar, though they are different in size, and have different slots available. All 3 types can have saddles and Chests, but Kennel, the smallest breed of Chocobo, cannot have Armor equipped. Chests are put onto Chocobos by RMB while holding a Chest. To remove the Chests again, use Shears.

Baby Chocobo, Kennel, Rounsey, and Destrider are pictured.

Kennel, fast nimble, lowest health, shortest

Rounsey, an all-rounder, can jump the highest.

Destrider, slowest, has the most significant amount of health.

If a Chocobo is killed, it may drop 1 to 2 bones, 1 to 4 feathers, and 1 to 4 Chocobo Meat.
