The Fast Enderman is one of Apotheosis’s Apothic Invaders, a supercharged Enderman that ambushes players out on the far islands of The End. It moves faster than a normal Enderman, teleports constantly, and swings an enchanted weapon drawn from a boss gear set. Every one spawns with a randomly generated name and a rarity color, and the strongest rarities can carry as much health as the Ender Dragon.
Beating it comes down to melee, because arrows only make it teleport away. Close the distance, back into a low-ceilinged spot to limit where it can blink, and trade hits with your strongest sword. Kill it and you are guaranteed a powerful Affix Item named after the boss, which is the whole reason to hunt one down.
Location
Fast Endermen only appear in The End, and only out on the surface of the outer islands. Apotheosis only spawns them more than about 1,024 blocks from the world center along the X or Z axis, so the central island and the obsidian platform stay clear. You have to cross an End Gateway after beating the Ender Dragon and travel to the distant island chains before one can show up.
They also need your World Tier set to Frontier or higher, since Invaders never spawn at the starting Haven tier. Once you qualify, any monster that would naturally spawn on the outer End surface has a small chance, roughly 1.8% to 3% depending on tier, to be replaced by a random End Apothic Boss instead. The Fast Enderman is one option in that pool, alongside empowered Endermites, Evokers, Phantoms, and Shulkers covered in the End Apothic Bosses guide.
Only one Invader spawns per dimension every few minutes, so encounters stay rare. You will always know when one arrives: a loud sound plays, a colored beam of light shoots up, and a message announces the boss has awoken. That beam lets you find the fight from far across the islands.
Behavior
Attacks
The Fast Enderman fights up close. Its melee hits land for the Enderman’s boosted attack damage plus whatever weapon it carries, drawn from an enchanted boss gear set. A single swing can hurt far more than a vanilla Enderman ever would, and higher rarities add real armor and heavy knockback resistance on top.
Like any Enderman, it teleports. It blinks toward you to close gaps and blinks away the instant a projectile would connect, making bows and thrown items nearly useless. Its movement speed is boosted well past a normal Enderman’s, so plan to stand and fight.
Endermen cannot teleport into water-occupied blocks, so water placed near you both damages the boss on teleport and removes those blocks as future destinations. This forces the boss to blink toward dry ground where you are waiting.
It stays neutral until you provoke it, either by looking directly at its upper body or by striking it first. Because the beacon beam gives away its position early, you can pick your ground and approach on your own terms before the fight begins. It is also immune to fire and lava thanks to permanent Fire Resistance, so burning traps will not help.
Rarities and Scaling
Every Fast Enderman rolls one of four rarities when it spawns, and that roll decides how dangerous it is and how good its loot will be. The rarity shows in the color of its name and glowing outline, so you can read the threat before committing.
Higher World Tiers make the better rarities more common, and Mythic bosses only appear once you reach the Summit or Pinnacle tier. At Frontier and Ascent, the toughest roll you can face is Epic.
Uncommon
Rare
Epic
Mythic
The health jump is the big one. An Uncommon boss dies quickly to good gear, while a Mythic one can rival the Ender Dragon’s health and hit hard enough to drop an unprepared player in a couple of blows. The attack damage shown above is before its weapon is counted, so the real hits are stronger still.
Epic and Mythic bosses gain armor and armor toughness that Uncommon and Rare ones lack. Raw weapon damage matters more than clever effects at the top end. Knockback resistance also climbs to 80% at Mythic, so you cannot shove it away to make space. If the outline warns you it is Mythic and your gear is not ready, walking away is a valid choice.
Special Mechanics
Invaders make an entrance. When a Fast Enderman spawns, everyone within about 140 blocks hears the noise and gets the on-screen warning, and a colored beam marks the exact spot. The boss also glows for a few minutes after spawning, so you can track it through walls and terrain while you approach.
The reason to fight one is the guaranteed Affix Item. Every Fast Enderman is armed with exactly one special Affix Item as part of its gear, and it always drops that item on death at the same rarity as the boss. The affixes on it roll stronger than normal, and the item keeps the boss’s name as a prefix, so your trophy reads something like “Sir Biscuit’s Blade”.
There is no separate boss health bar for these fights, and the name floating above the Enderman is randomly generated. “Fast Enderman” describes what you are facing rather than a fixed title. By default the boss does not automatically chase you when it appears, giving you a moment to gear up before you provoke it.
Killing an Apothic Invader is one of the requirements to advance from Frontier tier to Ascent. Higher tiers also make the tougher Epic and Mythic rarities more common.
Drops
Beyond the guaranteed Affix Item, a Fast Enderman rolls once on a bonus loot table when it dies. That single roll gives a random Apothic Gem 30% of the time, a Sigil of Malice 25% of the time, and nothing the rest, so you get at most one of the two per kill. It also drops the usual Ender Pearls like any Enderman.
The Affix Item is the strongest reward here, a piece of enchanted gear carrying powerful affixes. Slot it in right away, or save it for the Reforging and Socketing systems to squeeze even more out of it later.
A Gem can be socketed into your gear to add stat bonuses. The Sigil of Malice is a niche crafting tool that applies Touch of Malice to an Affix Item, letting you sacrifice one item’s strength to boost another. Ender Pearls are the standard Enderman drop, handy for travel and for brewing Eyes of Ender.
Strategy
Come in full enchanted armor, ideally Diamond or Netherite, and carry a sword with high raw damage. Epic and Mythic bosses have armor of their own, so extra damage and Sharpness matter more than special effects.
Skip Fire Aspect entirely since the boss is immune to fire, and skip Knockback since its resistance shrugs it off. Smite deals no bonus damage here either, as Endermen are neutral mobs and not undead.
Position matters as much as gear. Endermen are tall and cannot teleport into a space only two blocks high, so fighting under a low ceiling or a dug-out overhang forces the boss down and limits its escape blinks.
Water placed near your position hurts the boss whenever it teleports close. Endermen cannot use water-occupied blocks as teleport destinations, so water also funnels the boss toward dry ground where you are waiting.
Every arrow or thrown item you use makes the Fast Enderman teleport away before it lands, wasting your ammo and your time. This is a melee fight from start to finish, so close the gap and keep swinging.
FAQ
They only spawn in The End, on the surface of the outer islands more than about 1,024 blocks from the center along the X or Z axis. Your World Tier also has to be Frontier or higher, and you reach the outer islands by crossing an End Gateway after beating the Ender Dragon.
Endermen automatically teleport whenever a projectile is about to hit them, so bows and thrown items are wasted against this boss. Fight it in melee instead, and close the gap quickly since it is faster than a normal Enderman.
Sharpness only. Smite deals bonus damage exclusively to undead mobs like Zombies and Skeletons, and Endermen are neutral mobs, so Smite contributes nothing to this fight. Put Sharpness V on your sword for the raw damage boost that actually applies.
It always drops one Affix Item at the same rarity as the boss, named after it. On top of that, a single bonus roll gives a random Apothic Gem 30% of the time or a Sigil of Malice 25% of the time, plus the usual Ender Pearls.
No. It is an Apothic Invader based on the Enderman, and each one spawns with a randomly generated name colored by its rarity. “Fast Enderman” simply describes the boosted, teleporting Enderman you fight in The End.
Advance your World Tier to Frontier or higher, since Invaders never appear at the starting Haven tier. Higher tiers also raise the spawn chance and make the tougher rarities more common, as explained in the Apothic Boss System Overview.
It depends on the rarity roll. An Uncommon boss sits around 60 to 100 health, while a Mythic one ranges from 150 up to 220, which can match the Ender Dragon. The color of its name and outline tells you which rarity you are facing.
