End Apothic Bosses are supercharged versions of the End’s monsters that invade the outer islands once you raise your World Tier. An Enderman, Shulker, Endermite, Phantom, or Evoker can arrive wearing a full set of enchanted, affixed gear, hitting far harder and shrugging off knockback and fire. Every one of them is guaranteed to drop a named Affix Item, which is the whole reason to hunt them.
You meet these invaders out on the distant End islands, not on the central island where you fight the Ender Dragon. They are also a mobile source of Apotheosis Gems, including the End’s own Endersurge Gem and Gem of the Mageslayer, plus Sigils of Malice. For the shared rarity and Affix Item systems, see the Apothic Boss System Overview and the Apothic Bosses mechanic.
End invaders never appear on the central End island or anywhere within about 1024 blocks of the world center. Cross the void gap to the far chorus islands to find them, and keep in mind the void below is far deadlier than any boss.
Spawning
End invaders replace ordinary monster spawns, so they only turn up where a mob would naturally appear on the outer End islands. They must spawn on the surface under the open sky of those islands, never in the small caves beneath them. Mob spawners do not qualify, so the only way to find these bosses is to hunt them in the wild. No invader spawns in the Haven tier or anywhere on the central Dragon island.
Bosses begin appearing at World Tier Frontier and grow more common as you climb toward Pinnacle. The chance below is the odds that any single valid mob spawn is upgraded into an invader, and only one can spawn in the dimension roughly every three minutes. Raising your World Tier is the single biggest lever on how often you meet them.
When one spawns within about 140 blocks you get a sound, an on-screen message naming the boss, a glowing outline, and a beam of light rising from its location. By default it does not immediately hunt you, so you get a moment to ready up or back away. Use the outer island biomes below to know where to search.
The End Roster
Five End mobs can be reborn as invaders, and which ones you can meet depends on your World Tier. The Enderman, Shulker, and Endermite can all appear from Frontier onward and use the standard loot table. The Phantom and Evoker are the elite invaders, gated behind higher tiers and rolling richer rewards.
The Enderman is by far the most common of the group, so it is the invader you will fight the most. The Endermite is the rarest to actually see, since it has by far the lowest spawn weight of the whole roster.
Enderman
Frontier tier and up, most common
The Enderman is the invader you will meet most often and the toughest of the common three, starting with the highest base health of the group. It blinks around the fight to reposition or slip behind you, so avoid staring directly at it until you are ready to commit. As a common invader it drops the standard boss loot.
Shulker
Frontier tier and up, ranged
A boss Shulker anchors itself to a block and fires homing bullets that apply Levitation on hit. Out on the End’s islands that Levitation is genuinely lethal, since it can lift you off an edge and drop you into the void. Break line of sight behind terrain and close the gap fast, or shoot it down with your own arrows.
Endermite
Rare spawn, small but deadly
The Endermite has the lowest spawn weight of the roster, making it the rarest invader you will actually encounter. Its tiny body gains the same huge health and damage boosts as the larger mobs, turning a normally harmless pest into a fast, hard-hitting threat. Never write one off just because it looks small.
Phantom
Ascent tier and up, elite loot
From the Ascent tier upward, boss Phantoms dive at you from above and are hard to corner on open ground. As one of the two elite invaders, it rolls the richer bonus loot table on top of its normal drops. Keep a bow ready, since chasing a flying target on foot near the void is how players fall.
Evoker
Summit and Pinnacle only
The Evoker only invades at the Summit and Pinnacle tiers and is the deadliest of the roster. It keeps its distance while summoning biting fang attacks and swarms of Vexes, and it carries the same elite loot table as the Phantom. Rush it down before the Vexes overwhelm you, and expect the best drops the End has to offer.
Behavior
Every invader keeps the normal behavior of its base mob, so Endermen still teleport, Shulkers still shoot, Phantoms still swoop, and Evokers still summon. They aggro like any hostile mob once they notice you rather than tracking you across the map. What makes them dangerous is the stat package layered on top.
All invaders gain heavy knockback resistance, faster movement, permanent Fire Resistance, and a full set of enchanted gear. Higher rarities pile on bonus health, damage, and armor, so a Mythic Enderman can top 200 health and move quicker than you expect. Its name color and glowing outline tell you the grade at a glance.

Mythic
Attack Boost multiplies the base mob’s damage and stacks with its weapon enchantments, so a Mythic invader hits for well over double a normal mob. The ranged invaders, the Shulker and Evoker, trade a little of that health for boosted projectile damage instead. Heavy knockback resistance means you cannot simply shove them away, which matters most when a ledge is behind you.
Drops
The prize from any invader is its Affix Item. Every boss carries exactly one, matching its own rarity, fully enchanted, and always dropped on death. It takes the boss’s randomly generated name as a prefix, so it doubles as a permanent trophy of the fight.
On top of that guaranteed drop, invaders roll a bonus loot table and still leave their normal mob drops like Ender Pearls. The three common invaders use the standard table below.
The rows above are the guaranteed Affix Item at 100%, a random Apothic Gem at 30%, and a Sigil of Malice at 25%. The random Gem is the roll to hope for, since you can socket it into your own gear for a permanent bonus. In the End it pulls from the dimension’s gem pool, so at the Summit and Pinnacle tiers you can win the End-exclusive Endersurge Gem and Gem of the Mageslayer this way.
The two elite invaders, the Evoker and Phantom, make a second roll on a richer table in addition to the standard one. That extra roll raises the Gem and Sigil odds and is the only way an End invader drops one of the mod’s music discs.
A Sigil of Malice applies the Touch of Malice modifier when you craft an Affix Item, and the three music discs, Flash, Glimmer, and Shimmer, are collectible tracks unique to Apotheosis. For the full details on each reward, see the Gems Overview, the Endersurge Gem article, and the Affix Items mechanic.
Tips
The void is your real enemy out here. Every End invader can knock you back, and the Shulker can float you clean off an island, so fight with solid ground behind you and carry blocks to bridge gaps. Never take one of these fights on a narrow ledge.
Bring a shield, a ranged weapon, and Slow Falling Potions to every hunt. A shield blocks Shulker bullets and other projectiles, while a bow lets you soften Phantoms and Endermen before they close the distance. Slow Falling Potions are specifically valuable against the Shulker: when Levitation wears off you drop normally, and a potion converts that fall into a soft landing. Since these bosses resist knockback and ignore fire, lean on raw damage and strong armor rather than lava or Fire Aspect.
Push your World Tier once you can handle the extra danger. Higher tiers make invaders spawn more often and at better rarities, and reaching Summit unlocks the End’s exclusive Gems from their drops. If you want to face the elite Evoker and its top-tier loot, you must climb all the way to Summit or Pinnacle.
If Mythic Affix Items are your goal, your World Tier matters far more than which mob you hunt. Every invader rolls its rarity the same way, and a Mythic result is only possible once you reach Summit, growing much more likely at Pinnacle. Climb to those tiers and any End invader can hand you a Mythic item, so raising your tier beats chasing one specific mob.
FAQ
They only spawn on the outer End islands, on the surface, and more than about 1024 blocks from the world center. They never appear on the central island where you fight the Ender Dragon, so you must cross the void gap to the distant chorus islands to find them.
End invaders never spawn in the Haven tier, so you must raise your World Tier to Frontier or higher first. Even then they replace only a small fraction of natural spawns, only one can spawn in the dimension every few minutes, and you must be out on the outer islands rather than the central one. Mob spawners cannot produce invaders, only naturally generated mob spawns under open sky trigger the upgrade.
The guaranteed Affix Item is the main reward, since it matches the boss’s rarity and comes with unusually strong affixes and enchantments. Beyond that, the random Apothic Gem is most valuable, and at the Summit and Pinnacle tiers it can be one of the End-exclusive Endersurge Gem or Gem of the Mageslayer.
The Evoker is the toughest, and it only invades at the Summit and Pinnacle tiers. It stays at range while summoning fang attacks and swarms of Vexes, and it carries the elite loot table. The Phantom is the other elite invader, appearing from the Ascent tier and diving from above.
Fire is wasted on them, since every invader spawns with permanent Fire Resistance. They also carry heavy knockback resistance that climbs with rarity, so you cannot reliably shove them into the void. Ironically, the Shulker can do that to you instead by floating you off an edge with its Levitation bullets.
