Advanced Compass adds a Compass into Minecraft, which is visible at all times at the top of the screen. It’s RPG themed and provides many features in a compact and modern-looking way. There are options to show nearby entities, add waypoints, and more.

Configuring Advanced Compass
Instantly, the Advanced Compass will be visible at the top of the screen. The size of the Compass can be manually scaled, but it also changes with the GUI Scale option in your video settings.

By default, the compass will show N, East, South, and West. All nearby entities will also be shown, including those from other mods, as well as the distance they are from you. You’re able to configure Advanced Compass by pressing the P key (by default).
On the second tab is the entity list. Here, you can manually enable or disable which mobs should be shown on the Compass. There is a hide-all button, but it’s recommended to reenable the player entity if playing on a multiplayer server.
The ‘Show Mode’ option is defaulted to Always On. Though it can also be changed so that the Advanced Compass only shows if you have an actual Compass in your main hand, off-hand, or inventory.
Another useful change is Distance, which defaults to 50. Increasing this will change the range at which different entities appear on the Compass. Death Waypoints can also be enabled or disabled, and there are plenty of other features to change.
How to Add Waypoints
The quickest way to add Waypoints with the Advanced Compass mod is to press the ‘N’ key, which is set by default. In the key bind settings for Minecraft, you can check and change this option.

At the top of this screen, an icon can be chosen, and the color can be changed. You’re also able to give the waypoint a name and set a custom position. The Distance option will change the distance you need to be from a waypoint for it to be visible on the Advanced Compass.
A value of 0 will cause the waypoint to be visible at all times. On this screen, you can also press the Waypoints list button to see all existing waypoints and remove or edit them.

How to Install
If you haven't already, make sure to install Forge for Minecraft. It's a simple process and takes just a few minutes. Once Forge is installed:- Download the mod for your Minecraft Version. It will be a .JAR file.
- Take this file, and place it in the 'mods' folder of your Minecraft directory. If this folder doesn't exist, create it. The easiest way to access your Minecraft directory is opening the game, going to Resource Packs and pressing the 'Open Resource Pack Folder' button.
- Once it's inside the mods folder, run Minecraft with the Forge preset selected. The mod will be installed and can be played with in-game.
