In this guide, we’re going to cover the Aqua Affinity. This is part of our Minecraft Enchantments series.
What is Aqua Affinity
Aqua Affinity is an Enchantment in Minecraft which is available for your helmet. When applied, it will allow you to mine blocks underwater at a normal speed. There is only one level to Aqua Affinity, any levels higher than one will have no impact.
If you don’t have this helmet and enchantment, mining is much slower than normal. Typically, it will take five times as long, making it more likely that you will drown or be trapped underground.
How to Get Aqua Affinity
Like most Enchantments, Aqua Affinity can be obtained through a Librarian, through an Enchanting Table or by Enchanting a standard Book.
How to Apply Aqua Affinity
Aqua Affinity can only be applied to Helmets in Minecraft. Therefor, you should only place a Helmet into the Enchanting Table. It might take a few attempts before you eventually unlock Aqua Affinity.

If you have Aqua Affinity in book form, then you will need to use an Anvil to apply it to your Helmet.

Simply place your Helmet into the left slot of the Anvil, with the Aqua Affinity Enchanted Book into the next slot. Then, you can remove your Helmet which now has the Enchantment applied. There is a level cost when using an Anvil, so make sure you have enough experience.
